I was there with my Dad that game. I was 9 years old. I remember it pissed it down all game, and when Paul Fitzpatrick came in with that diving header I just remember how incredible the atmosphere was.
I was there with my dad too and I had just gone to the gents as Fitzpatrick scored. Gutted!

I think everyone agrees but what with FFP, a sell out ground would be a lot more beneficial to us than going through with a less than half full at best ground.

That was pretty much my point. Its the fact of a cup tie with Derby NOT being a sell out that's the saddest element. If you'd told me back in the day that there'd come a time when that was a possibility I'd have had to assume that it meant martial law had been introduced.

The wettest I can ever remember being at a football match

Clearly you've never been to Oldham or Grimsby.Back in the 80s Boundary Park was adorned with a massive hole helpfully positioned in the roof of the away section.& if Oldham has anything it has rain.
At Grimsby the rain comes in sideways on the back of a North Sea gale, rendering a roof irrelevant.

Blackpool was awful when they only had half a ground. Accrington was horrible when we played them in the League Cup in 2007. I've still got my match programme, and it isn't dry yet. Chesterfield friendly in 2009 was wetter though.

Juventus v AC Milan, Coppa Italia, something like 2002. I can't believe the pitch was playable, as the whole area around the ground was like a lake.
