It's reached the point now where that is not realistically possible.

We are not remotely capable of winning the competition and it's a needless distraction from more important issues in terms of improvement of our position in the league.

In my view - there is far too much bad football played and it would be better for the game and players to ditch this competition.

Whilst on that subject - did you notice the vast gaps in the crowds for the UEFA cup games? I think the game has evolved for commercially driven reasons so that the European Cup, Premiership and Championship are the meaningful competitions with the FA Cup also diminishing in importance year on year - to the point where I would wager it will lose its Saturday spot within the next five years (max).
