Just listened to the 8 a.m. version:

"Susan Whelan will be the new CEO with Andrew Neville taking over the responsibility for signing new players"

Stringer is enthusing about how this news paves the way for a raft of new signings. Now I've got no doubt at all in the ability of Andrew Neville, but why Stringer thinks it will make things any different from the way it was under Hoos is absolutely beyond me.

Its Stringer Bob, he'd get excited over the opening of a new cereal box.

I think he is implying that signings may have been on hold until the situation was resolved?

Exactly.

If there's an outgoing chief executive as there was with Lee Hoos, he's hardly going to be involved with any negotiations with a potential new signing or signings. It meant nothing was likely to happen.

A new team in place means we're now able to press ahead with bringing in new blood.

For someone from outside Thailand to rise so near the top of King Power suggests that this is a woman of rare ability. She obviously has the total confidence of Top (and perhaps more importantly) Top's dad which is a good thing. I don't know how long Lee Hoos has been aware that he is leaving but it is inevitable that decisions will have been on hold during the transition.

From my experience, (albeit many moons ago) Andrew Neville always came across as a very good bloke who was very good at his job. Hopefully he'll prove to be as good in his new role.

I like Andrew Neville. He was the bloke who sorted me a comp out after I discovered I quite suddenly didn't have a ticket after 16 hours of travelling to Hartlepool.

Perhaps the rumours of Hoos being some what of a prat when it came to transfer dealings were true. There were a couple of stories going about that had him cocking up transfers whilst Pearson was here, and that was one of the reasons they fell out.

Although I'm sure he was actually meaning the fact having no CEO would hold negotiations up.

You do't get into these types of positions by being a pushover in the world of big business, I bet she's one tough cookie. No doubt this will shake things up a bit, its going to be interesting to watch what happens over the next few months, both in terms of players coming and going, but from her perspective, what decisions she makes to generate more business and make the club 'self sufficient'. That to me implies that 'King Power' have no intention of shovelling money into a black hole, with no return on their respective investments.

I don't believe for one minute that any transfer has been waiting for a 'new team'. Players have to be signed when they are available otherwise they will be snapped up by somebody else. The reason for no action in the transfer market yet is that players are still on holiday. We are not alone in not having signed anybody yet - transfer action rarely starts before July in any year and this one is no different. Stringer is talking bollocks - please don't encourage him.

He is, was always doing his best to smooth over stuff that Hoos and others(NP pfffft) couldn't give a monkehs about when it was summat to do with the fans.

:icon_roll did you not think to check you had your ticket before you left the house? :icon_lol:

Read my post again. I had my ticket until at least the moment I alighted the bus opposite the ground. I only realised it was no longer in my possession as I was sitting down to a snack at Pizza Hut.
