I shouldnt feel depressed about us going down. At the end of the last season, imagine if we could put our hands up and say, "Sorry, we don't think we're ready yet, can we do this again?"

How much more stable (not a horse stable) and happier would we be now?

Yep, started with Peter Taylor, panicked into Dave Bassett (after being rejected by Harry Rednapp) and ended the season with Micky Adams in charge.

Feels very similar.
Oh, further to this, we brought in experienced Premier League quality players with W*se and Ian Walker and gave them big contracts - whilst we had renewed the likes of Elliott on massive money for a number of years despite being ancient.

Yep very similar

Just watched the highlights on Sky

The ****ing defending for those goals. Holy shit, what a complete shower

Kristiansen and Vestergard absolute filth for both of them. Mavididi missing in action for the second (although our whole shape was wrong - Kristiansen should have been covering Traore)

Both goals are an abomination

I can't even be bothered to watch now. What is the point? At least under the guy we (almost) all agreed was shit we would try to claw back a 1/2/3 goal deficit....now we're just accepting a good bumming every game.

Which may well have happened if he’d stayed.

Steve Cooper 100% should’ve been sacked.
RvN 100% shouldn’t have replaced him.

what did you expect Ruud to do to change things? And I’m not having a dig - it’s a genuine question.
Well what's the point in sacking a manager if you don't expect the next one to change things? As it happens, the appointment didn't look a great one from the start so my expectations were pretty low.

Had we hired a proper manager then we would have changed things but instead, we jumped from a clown to a duffer.

On a personal positive side I never renewed my season ticket so I don't have to watch this utter garbage and by the way things are going it might be a long time before I would want to. (Sorry for those poor souls that have to watch this shite)

Just watched the goals.

Kristiansen - he’s just never in the right place is he, and even when he is, he’s so powderpuff that it’s pointless for him to be there.

Dreadful

I think Mavididi and Vestergaard were at fault for the second. Kristiansen was forced to cover in the goal area really which meant Mavididi should have got back to cover the guy who never ever scores goals.

It’s the rallying cry we always go to when things aren’t going well. ‘Sack the manager’. Like whoever comes in is going to wave some kind of magic wand and quickly make it all better. Maybe it wasn’t the manager that was / is the issue? I think we all actually are starting to realise that now.

There are also though, still many thinking that someone else in charge of the same players under the same regime will somehow have been / be able to make things good again. These people could do with a reality check.

On we plod I suppose - all a bit depressing really but nothing a Sunday morning bacon sandwich won’t help!

I'm not saying that RVN is the best, or worst, manager that we've ever had but, what do you all think that he should be doing that he isn't?

If you look at the quality of players that we have lost/sold over the last couple of seasons, and some of the questionable replacements, then what can be expected? The new fullback, a £3m bargain bucket purchase, shows that money isn't freely available so, buckle in: we're in for a rough ride.

Sure you wouldn't prefer a sausage sandwich?

Resold all four of my ST’s for close to £100. Best bit of LCFC business all season.

Well I can say with absolute certainty that yesterday his substitutions were unfathomable. EK was our only creative player and was trying (and to a certain extent) succeeding in creating some decent passages of play. He was by far our best player.

He should therefore have picked almost anyone else on the pitch h to substitute, he SHOULD NOT have subbed EK.

Coaching the players into not making the same mistakes?

Basic organisation?

Correct team selection and substitutes?

I agree with you to some extent, and it’s generally said most managers don’t actually make a whole lot of difference. But surely there are some basics he’s being paid to do with whatever coaching badges he’s got, even with the hand he’s been dealt.

Otherwise we might as well have a city fan/pop dream team as the management team.
