Good start, good finish, but my god it was grim in the middle......

Special marks for Okoli and Mavididi when he came on.

Some very dubious refereeing decisions. We’ve a right to be upset, I think with the refs general performance.

As for us?

Cooper put out a team to be hard to beat. It doesn’t work. He needs to put our best players on the pitch. Mavididi made a huge difference, as did Bruno.

Okoli i really like the look of. He will, however, get sent off a few times in his career.

I think you have to pick two of Winks, Wilf and Skipp to pair with Bounanatte.

There will be a lot of “pat on the head, good effort from plucky Leicester” this season, I fear.

Fair play to Mavididi, I didn't think he'd cut it at this level but he's showing us that he really wants this opportunity.

Okoli adds some much needed physicality but he looks a little naive.

Buononotte is a class little player. I like his drive.

As for Bilal, he has already shown he can thread a quality pass.

Last one, I like Kristiansen. Full of drive and commitment and a good left foot. He will make mistakes but I think he's the kind of player that will become very good if we stick with him.

Oh well - I thought we were to win the home games and draw the away ones.
Not too far off, I suppose.
Ok, miles off - not a million miles, but still. Could be Everton worse.

I’m sure there’ll be some who are glad we lost so they can try to make out they were right all along about the manager, and him not playing Ricardo etc

To be fair, I still see a place for Ricardo in the side. He's too good to not be involved.

35 fouls… ref lost control.

Feel like we could have got a point, which is positive but also disappointing!

Bring on the next game

We were competitors be and nothing really written no with the performance overall.

Villa just had more quality, guile and rhythm craft than us.

Pleased with the performance.

Villa are in the Champions league
They look at us as games they should win
We are still finding our feet
Not a disastrous result, in fact, reasons to feel a bit more positive

Best I've felt coming away from a defeat in a long time.

We still struggle to create loads but I was very impressed with how solid we looked and compared to our previous games, we really restricted their forward play.

Solid performances all round, Ayew's work rate was impressive but Mavididi looked really dangerous when he came on.

Okoli looked really good and the back too.

Lots of positives to take from that, despite the result, as I thought we were good enough for a point at least.
