And we have a manager who has proved over the two games against Athletico that he has a lot more to him than just motivation.

I think it's very interesting for the summer decision the board face that Shakey managed to change the matches twice with tactical switches. He certainly proved himself against the best.

Vardy was sensational. Ulloa also fantastic. They were all great really but a special mention for Morgan. What a comeback performance. Talismanic, strong, body on the line stuff. Fantastic.

I'm not sad or depressed at all. Quite the opposite really. We've just played one of the best teams on the planet and absolutely gave them a really tough game; one from which they were lucky to come away with a draw. What a team we have become and what a future there is ahead. Cheer up and celebrate an amazing achievement and a monumental effort.

So, so proud of our boys! What a performance! What an adventure!

They all worked their bullocks off tonight and we go out knowing we gave it our all and can go out with our heads held high.

I'm not gonna lie. There's a tinge of heartbreak in there for me. But it won't last. The memories of this incredible adventure will

All in all though...despite the pride in the performance it's definitely worth remembering that over the 2 legs we've been done by a ****ing ridiculous refereeing decision. Same as we were 20 years ago...only worse! When we drew them that was my first thought. We owe them for that debacle in 97. Instead we get the same ****ing thing again. Looks like I'll have to wait til I'm 72 for another chance!!

Superb second half performance - wouldn't mind seeing that formation again, to see if it can be that good in a league game

Vardy and Albrighton were amazing. Fuchs Simpson and Morgan superb. Leo did his damndest, and Chilly was wonderful

Pity Mahrez couldn't be arsed to show up, but you can't have everything and he's been absent all season, so it's no real surprise

It's been an extraordinary adventure, and we really didn't look out of place at all

Oh, but if only that Vardy chance could have gone in. What a tale that could have been....

The only thing that has bothered me this season, exemplified today as well, is Mahrez. What the hell has gone on there?! The most amazing player to play for our team, yet I don't think I'd want him to stay for another year.

As everyone has said pride and disappointment, some great nights under the lights

Unfortunately the contest was over as soon as they scored and it was such a poor goal to concede.

For the first time, I saw something from Shakespeare at half time that made me think he's got the ability to manage the club long term. His changes were excellent.

I was also very impressed by Atletico and Simeone. A touch of class that he went round to all our players after the match.

Could an eighth place finish get a Europa League place? If we want it enough, I think we can still finish there.

Well done boys.

Nothing personal but I'm sick of people slagging off the best player I've ever seen in a City shirt.

Yes, he's not been as good this season but who has? He's still scored and created more than anyone else for us in the Champions League.

He'll be back to his sublime best next season and we'll all be gutted that it probably won't be for us.

Show the man some more respect.

Completely agree BN.

I actually thought he put in a good display today, just couldn't quite get the one or two perfect through balls. But he was causing problems and also put in a defensive shift.

Mind you, couldn't help but think it was a massive couple of games for him to impress the La Liga teams - and not sure he would have won them over.

I agree with all of this, but in particular the part about Simeone. We noticed too that he made a conscious effort to go to all of our players individually and he was also applauding the crowd as he walked off.
