And scored from 1 in 22 attempts. Nobody can defend that percentage. We should have at least 3 goals from 22 attempts. Our finishing let us down.
Again, many are left questioning if you actually watched the game or are just now catching up via stats? There were not 22 chances in that game that we should have scored from. The only one where we should have done better was Chilwell's that he hit too high. Vardy's was well blocked as was Ulloa, as for the other 18, no idea where they come from. There is a real world difference between a chance and an attempt. How many good quality chances did we have?

The only thing that has bothered me this season, exemplified today as well, is Mahrez. What the hell has gone on there?! The most amazing player to play for our team, yet I don't think I'd want him to stay for another year.

C'mon mate he had three men on him all game I thought he gave it his all last night

That was some post PR, some post. Definitely end of a mixed up crazy, sometimes ****ed up era. Feels kinda like that feeling you get at the first day back at work in January, when you've just spent the whole of the Christmas holidays partying, getting pissed and getting laid. Back to boring monotonous normality.

Although every now and again there will be a big grin across my face.
Our club does not understand boring monotonous normality.

Yes. It's always that black and white. Always. Do you sell the drugs you take or are they prescribed by a specialist?

Slimani would have scored 10 wouldn't he? Mental.

every time the ball is in the box or a cross is made we have a chance to score. The shots which vardy had blocked were both miss hits - were you watching from the ground or did you have the chance to watch many replays from different angles, - if he'd placed those shots he could have scored. Griezmann or Sanchez would probably have scored both of them as would many other "goalscorers" imo. Similarly Ulloa got his head to a lot of balls (I thought he played well, as did Vardy) but those headers went nowhere if that had been Benteke, Ibra or even Slimani I think they'd have scored at least once. Okazaki fluffed a chance in the first half that many players would have done better with. All in all I think our attackers played well and our team played excellently but with so many chances not taken it's clear that we lack a true class forward - the type a semi-finalist in the champion's league needs - in order to win these matches.

It's simple RM have Ronaldo, Benzema... , AM have Griezmann, BM have Lewandoski, ribery, Robben, Barca have Messi, Neymar, Suarez... Juve have Higuain, Dybala.

We had Vardy, Ulloa and Okazaki.

You are a much nicer poster when you stick to discussing your view of the match and the players rather than calling me names. We are allowed to disagree with each other without getting personal. As I've said before I like your football posts and agree with most of what you say. you don't need to turn into Cityfan. :)

btw all the drugs I take are prescribed to me by a specialist.

Shakey got is spot on last night Ulloa changed the game

And Chilwell

Shakey has made some great in match changes - perhaps he needs to be a little more proactive and start with those changes - I've been impressed with his in game management and I'm starting to believe he could be the best man for the job long term.

Although the change in shape was excellent, I found Chilwell's performance very frustrating.

He's a player I have very high hopes for but he was the key man in that second half with so much space and so many opportunities to deliver killer balls. He did the running bit but his composure, delivery and quality were sadly lacking.

He is young I was very impressed by him especially as he is a defender, you are right his supply could have been better I am sure it will come though

which is completely understandable. However he did cause problems and he did delive some good balls. even Mahrez lacked composure later in the game - remember the time he got the ball near his own nox and then tried to dribble all the way up the field - beating 2 or 3 before losing the ball and putting us in a tricky situation.

Personally thought Chilwell was great and we need to use the last few games of this season to bring him through ready to become an integral part of our team next year.

You seem to be mentioning me a lot recently. Is there anything I can help you with?

You mean like this post from you directed at Homer back in October?:

you're a dick! still losing 4-1 every other week suits you better.

You bookmark my posts it's so nice.

I was warned for that post and haven't been personal to him since.

btw I don't report your posts when you call me names - neither do I bookmark them.

I only mention you because unlike with Pop and Homer I rarely agree with your posts - which simply shows we have opposing views not that you are wrong - and you do seem to get very personal with my posts and like to quote me a lot. I guess you like being quoted and referred to so I try to make you happy. ;)

A special read from a terrific journalist at the game last night:

https://www.theguardian.com/footbal...ft-atletico-madrid-swat-team-champions-league
Why are Journos obsessed with possession and tick tacky football? Chelsea Athletico and us have proved that the game has moved on look at Barcelona possesion is not the be all and end all it is about what you do with it.

We should have won last night but did not I think some of the articles are a little harsh we played some really good stuff last night and Athletico were rocking had the 2nd gone in I am certain we would have won it, Simeone was rattled and suitably impressed, what is annoying is the constant pat on our heads and the refusal that we actually have a very talented side, what is important is that we ened the season well and carry it into the next season .

We need to stick to the blue preint that has brought success we do not need stellar buys we need the players that no one sees coming i.e Vardy, Mahrez, Albrighton . We have a fantastic opportunity to grow and become a major force in English football and it can be achieved!!!!

Yet the goal Vardy did score was one of his best ever. Very few players, including those in your illustrious list, would have had the lightning composure to score that.

Instead of blasting the ball first time, he saw that there were at least 3 defenders on the goal line including the keeper. The only place he could put it was high, over their heads, and as near the post as possible.

How he did all that in a split second was simply astounding. No wonder he was the first player Simeone went to after the game, embraced him, looked him in the eyes and said 'Come and play for me next year'
