The worst bit is that we signed that horrendous list of players whilst our stock was at its highest. Premier League champions and a Champions League campaign ahead. I feel like we've missed the boat when it comes to signing the likes of Keane, Sigurdsson et al.

I think you are probably right. There are plenty of very gifted players out there though that aren't big names and who will be phenomenally successful in the Premier League. The problem is that Steve Walsh will find them for Everton.
