Would getting in a 'real manager' with experience have included the likes of Megson etc?

Unless CS has spent the last ten years hiding in his office, do you not think he will have picked up enough experience about how to treat and work with players from Pearson and Ranieri?

We obviously have to exercise some common sense here. Is it possible in this crazy world to strike some balance between someone with utterly no experience at the one extreme and someone utterly shit at the other.

Perhaps that is why we will be doomed to fail. Perhaps it is that common sense left town never to return.

There's no such thing as a balance. A person who is extremely good at one club can be a ****ing disaster for another. Megson's stock was pretty good when he came to us and he was soon lured away by another team who thought they were getting a great manager. Turns out he was horse shit and disappeared soon after. Holloway was seen as dreadful for us and fired after coming in highly regarded but he then went on to do quite incredible things for a time at Blackpool.

There's no middle ground because what works for some won't work for others. That's really the 'common sense' approach, isn't it.

Funny I thought he kept Bolton up in the Premier League and into the quarter Final of the UEFA Cup in 2007/8 and the following season they finished 13th.
He was shit though and was sacked in time for New Year 2010

I did mean in the long run..... but those stats kind of illustrate my point.
