Several players failed to shine but, I still think that it all stems from those curious defensive decisions. We can argue as to whether Evans is the best we can get at centre back but, surely, there can be no debate as to whether he is better than the current Morgan. Similarly, I do not know whether Simpson is still a good right back but, it is clear that Ricardo is no defender and Amartey is not a Premier League defender.

Had these problems not been so obviously exposed, again, then Maguire would have looked better, given help at the back; more Leicester pressure on the Everton defence would have meant more chances and less emphasis on the odd attacking faux pas.

I’m not sure about the centre back scenario, but the right back situation is 100% Puel’s **** up.

He firstly ostracises a Premier League winning right back who is good enough for this level, and then brings in Ricardo (I’m positive this is one of his signings) who whilst is a decent winger, is never a defender in a million years.

Seems the most logical thing. He's a ****ing idiot then.

Absolute rubbish

Feel free to wank over beating the two shittest teams in the league, but this man is a complete and utter twat

Amartey and Morgan should not be playing. The creativity of Maddison is puked away while he is stuck on the left wing, and the whole style of play has effectively put an end to Jamie Vardy's career

And talk me through the subs today. Talk me through the absolute genius tactical thinking of those subs.

He's a complete twat

It's feckin hopeless. Total and utter dross

The debate is more baffling if it's choice of Evans of someone who is going to get sent off very soon.

I just can’t believe that we can’t see the most obvious solution to our issues.
We have 2 very attacking full backs = use them as wing backs.
We are weak at the back with our 2 central defenders isolated = play 3 at the back.
We’re playing our most creative player out wide = put Maddison in the middle.

Maybe I’m a simpleton. Maybe I’m missing something. But - surely we suit a 3-5-2. Am I being stupid/thick/deluded?

Even if he thought Vardy would shoot, he should have been following up for a rebound.
I find Nacho to be our most frustrating player. He clearly has ability, but too often he wanders around looking like he doesn't give a shit. There were times in the game today when he worked hard pressing players, and others when he looked like he'd rather be anywhere else.
I completely agree. He’s hellishly frustrating.

However if you watch Iheanacho’s goal against Huddersfield, Vardy did a very similar thing by not following up for a rebound or pass...

Oh **** it. Why go when all I do is get increasing agitated from the first whistle to the last?

We can botch together that sort of team selection against shitty opponents but Everton have good players. Why play several players out of position when you don't need to? Oh yes, because they have to fit Puel's fecking boring and predictably wank system.

Maddison might as well not play if you put him wide. Then Iheanacho is played in the 10 position? What the feck is that all about?

Our utterly tedious pissing about from keeper to defender, across the line and back again in some pass completion contest is both terrible to watch and also like handing any half decent opposition chances on a plate. We get away with it more than we deserve.

Surely everyone in the stadium could see that Morgan was on his last warning and Richarlison was on a deliberate plan to get him sent off? It was so blindingly obvious you really have to wonder about both Morgan and Puel. Seriously, neither of them are blind and totally stupid are they?

The ultimate though was the substitutions. Three colossal cock-ups designed to hand the game to the opposition on a plate. What a total twat Puel is. I can't stand him and his half management. It's like he's got a template that he will willingly introduce but he hasn't the first fecking clue what to do beyond that. Players don't suit the system? Feck knows. A change is needed in the game. Feck knows. A player needs to be handled a bit differently? Feck knows.

We're treading water as a club with him in charge. We'll never achieve anything of significance. He's a part time manager and a fraud.

This is more or less exactly what I've been thinking. We've got two men, one on either side, who are as natural wing backs as you'll ever see and absolutely not defenders in any way, shape, or form. We have central defenders coming out our ears. We have two men absolutely designed for defensive midfield positions. We have literally all the pieces to do this and, unfortunately, only this. If you're missing something, I'm missing the same thing.

No. You’re not. Our signings over the summer indicated this was the obvious and logical formation. But either Puel didn’t get the memo, or he’s stubborn as shit or just plain stupid. I’m giving him the benefit of the doubt and going with stubborn. If so, I can only surmise this is because a number of these new players are not his signings and this would suggest major issues embedded within the club. Or, perhaps he felt we had such a great squad that we had time to “bed in” the new arrivals. In which case, he is stupid after all. At best I’m frustrated, at worst sensing impending doom.

The only man missing this is the one paid to notice it.

I just don’t get it. We’re literally playing people out of position, when we have obvious answers out there. Again, I just don’t get it.

It’s just all very strange.

if he puts Morgan back in after his suspension then I will be in the Puel out brigade. I have backed him on here consistently but I have to agree he has marginalised our most prolific striker, increased pressure on our back four and removed our ability to hit teams hard and fast by playing a creative midfielder out of position, frustrating is not the word I would use!

I have through holidays missed every home and away game since Liverpool.

Thank god after that shit.

Morgan is a joke, he gets too tight to pacey players and gives away needless fouls. Suspended again, thank god, honestly he's turned from a solid PL centre back to a complete idiot in a season and a bit.

We need our best players in their best positions, this really isn't difficult. The manager is trying to overcomplicate things and it just isn't working. Everton were ordinary at best today, made to look good by us. They set traps for us waiting for the misplaced sideways pass, it works perfectly as an away side against us.

Sometimes you've got to just mix it up, go long, knock it into the channels for Vardy. Give their defence something to think about instead of letting them light their cigars and get their deckchairs out.

Maddison playing wide doesn't work. Pereira is not a right midfielder, he's a wing back. I don't need to go on and repeat what others have already said.

I'm bored of writing now, I can't be arsed. This is crap. It needs to change, drastically.

Mourinho anyone?

A few points from me:
1. I love Papy.
2. I thought we started the second half very well.
3. Whether it was a red or not Morgan should have been replaced as he was on a tightrope well before.
4. I like Ricardo.
5. Dan Amartey is competent but not as good as Simpson.
6. Puel needs to go.
7. I have no idea who needs to come in.
