Yes it was. That doesn't excuse the 75 minutes out of 90 that we were, once again, absolute dross. It doesn't excuse conceding an early, avoidable goal yet again. It doesn't excuse brainless defenders diving in when they're already on thin ice or a brainless manager refusing to take players off when it's a necessity. It doesn't excuse the 'tactical' decision to play Maddison in a position where he has little influence on the game or the isolation of our best striker. It doesn't excuse the fact that every man, his dog and his dog's pubic lice can see that we should be playing 3 at the back and yet our manager is either too stupid or too incompetent to see it. Oh, and perhaps if he hadn't have had so much space to get his shot away it wouldn't have been an issue.Well yes that and an absolutely world class strike. It looked unstoppable to me.
