Newcastle played a typical away team game. Aim to not lose but try and nick a goal.
Yep. If we'd gone away to a team above us in the table and got a result playing that way we'd be saying what a good away performance it was.

It adds about 10 games to the early part of the season.
Teams like West Han, Everton and Southampton have folded in the seasons they were in
You with your damn common sense and facts again. You're giving this place a bad name.Except that's not really the case. They've just used the Europa League as an excuse.
"smaller" teams that have qualified for the Europa League have done so because they've had an unusually good season. They've been mid table teams that have had a season better than they would normally expect. Then the following season, they return to where you'd expect them to be. It's not because they've been in Europe, it's because they're mid table teams.

10 more like we have just witnessed would put me football for life.10 extra games does sound grim as **** though.

Yeah gotta say I've not been this bored with home football in a while. We've not had a home win since Jan 20th (????) but this passing game is dull as **** and rarely ends in anything positive. There was a period just after the break that was almost exciting but also looked like a Championship game. It's not working is it.Bit of a problem. Puel seems to know how to avoid relegation but I guess Southampton were right to get rid before he drove their fans towards considering mass suicide on the grounds of boredom. On the other hand they look fairly shabby now so maybe their loss is our gain?
Don't honestly think Puel will ever generate much excitement here - but can we realistically expect better?
Don't think there is much doubt that Burnley deserve a chance in the Europa much more than our lads who it appears weren't that interested in qualifying. Very difficult to address this situation - really depends on what the owners are prepared to accept.
You can't help yourself, can you. It's such childish nastiness.I'm boring myself with this now. I can't imagine being able to watch much more of this clown....
