This maybe controversial but I don’t really want us in the Europa league. It adds about 10 games to the early part of the season.
Teams like West Han, Everton and Southampton have folded in the seasons they were in it and I fully expect us to have done the same. It will screw Burnley up as well in my opinion.
As for today.. passive football as per usual until something adverse happens. Our style has changed from our strength of press and run and we are far poorer for it.

Choudhury was good when he came on but that is about it for the positives. Silva wants so much time and space on the ball so everything slows down to walking pace when he is involved. Crossing was yet again, appalling on the whole as was the defending. The whole approach is just far too slow and predictable which makes it so easy to defend against. I wasn't impressed by Puel from the off and with each and every turgid performance I become even less convinced. I'm not sure getting rid of him quite yet is the answer but much more of what we saw today will leave us finishing outside the top 10 and that's when he will be asked politely to vacate his office.

Except that's not really the case. They've just used the Europa League as an excuse.

"smaller" teams that have qualified for the Europa League have done so because they've had an unusually good season. They've been mid table teams that have had a season better than they would normally expect. Then the following season, they return to where you'd expect them to be. It's not because they've been in Europe, it's because they're mid table teams.

You with your damn common sense and facts again. You're giving this place a bad name.

You maybe right but surely the extra games and midweek travel would have an affect.

I would love to see us qualify. I remember someone on here 2013 ish , they know who they are, saying “why get promoted?” as we will just lose every week.

So many of these useless ****ers need shipping out.

Pathetic as usual.

Our approach at home is absolutely embarrassing, for this reason I wouldn't even give a managerial sacking a second look.

Inept bollocks from the management to the ever bizarre goalkeeper.

From what I saw today, Burnley are going to destroy us. If we can get our recent away form back, then different story. It felt like things changed when Shinji came on but as usual recently, too little too late. Does anyone know our win/loss ratio when Shinji starts?

One manager today set his side up intelligently and constantly instructed his players from the sideline. The other might as well have spent the afternoon in the Highcross.

When there was a pause in play in the first half, several players came over to the touchline. Benitez put his arm around a couple of his players, passionately pointing and directing them. Puel just turned around and went back to his bottle of water on the bench leaving the players to talk amongst themselves. So typical.

We had three players behind Vardy that Newcastle organised against and we did nothing to adjust the challenge by switching them around. Yet again, our only tactic is to hope that Mahrez creates something or Vardy gets us out of jail.

Puel is a terrible, terrible, terrible manager. He is beyond hopeless. It is painful viewing. Going to games at the moment is a diabolical waste of time. We are getting more clueless by the week with constant sideways and backwards passing. Everything is too slow and lethargic. The players look as bored as the fans. Newcastle were loving our tactic of leaving Morgan free for a pass all the time, seeing as he's our worst passer.

I'm boring myself with this now. I can't imagine being able to watch much more of this clown sucking the life out of everything. Please Vichai, get him out of the club.

Bit of a problem. Puel seems to know how to avoid relegation but I guess Southampton were right to get rid before he drove their fans towards considering mass suicide on the grounds of boredom. On the other hand they look fairly shabby now so maybe their loss is our gain?

Don't honestly think Puel will ever generate much excitement here - but can we realistically expect better?

Don't think there is much doubt that Burnley deserve a chance in the Europa much more than our lads who it appears weren't that interested in qualifying. Very difficult to address this situation - really depends on what the owners are prepared to accept.

Yeah gotta say I've not been this bored with home football in a while. We've not had a home win since Jan 20th (????) but this passing game is dull as **** and rarely ends in anything positive. There was a period just after the break that was almost exciting but also looked like a Championship game. It's not working is it.

How can you not get excited with:

Morgan to Simpson. Simpson to Morgan. Morgan to Maguire. Maguire to Chilwell. Chilwell to Maguire. Maguire to Morgan. Morgan to Simpson. Simpson to Morgan. Morgan to Maguire. Maguire to Chilwell. Absolute garbage from start to finish

It's one dmensional tripe. Tippy tappy arsey fartey over to the right wing, where there is then no feckin idea what to do, then we play it backwards to tippy tappy arsey fartey over to the left wing. Repeat ad nauseum, until Albrighton or Chilwell put in a dreadful attempt at a cross which either goes out of play or fails to beat the first defender.

Five duffers pissng around passing it sideways and backwards, from one side to the other, twenty yards away from one of the most lethal dynamic strikers we have ever seen in a City shirt, who might as well stay at home

And a lumbering fat oaf at the centre of defence whose defending is getting more laughable with every ticking minute

It's utter, utter shit

I miss my team having an identity.

It’s just like watching England. Slow, laborious, absolutely mind blowingly dull.

Mahrez aside, we don’t have the creativity in the team to play Puel’s tactics. It’ll be even worse next season if Mahrez leaves and Puel stays.

One shot on target at home against Newcastle is absolutely bloody awful.

Three points out of four home games against Swansea, Stoke, Bournemouth and Newcastle is just embarrassing.

Load of ****ing shit again.

Loss of home form is a sure sign of a crap manager...especially arc leicester where it’s been so strong for so long.

It’s all going to end badly. As I’ve said before the idea of a Puel led team without Mahrez is borderline wrist slitting.

Clubs will get another bollocking for being ungrateful gits but the idea of this football for another season is grim.

I'm afraid your about right. Puel - here and at Southampton- has more or less proved that he can garner enough points to avoid relegation but he doesn't provide entertainment and excitement. The owners are not fools and will see the sterile season most likely looming without Mahrez. You are right the club will get hammered again by the press for what will be presented as an unwarranted sacking but I suspect that its in the best interests of the club to try to find a manager who can both keep us up and bring back a bit of life.
