Funny how ~Fryatt's form has dipped now he has the lucrative contract in his pocket isn't it?

Not surprised at Fryatt's form. I thought the whole team were leggy and just not quick enough. They really must stop the reliance on the long ball too. Disappointed.

Their striker Simon Cox was very pacey, worth keeping an eye on.

He was excellent. I thought Cox caused Morrison alot of problems. As was the tall guy that played in the mid, he was everywhere.Impressed by Swindon. They could have quite easily won the game.

We did ok but I never felt like we got going. We hit the woodwork granted but I never felt like we deserved to win.

MOM for me was Gilbert. He made two or three excellent last ditch tackles and headers to stop Swindon getting in. Very good performance. Oh and well done Pentney, a couple of very good saves and some good kicking.

Cox was a cheating little ****. One point when City were attacking full on Swindon, Cox pretended to be hurt hoping somebody would kick the ball out of play. When that didn't happen he got up limped a few steps and all was well. He moaned at the ref at every opportunity. Just a simple cheat!

thought it was a poor game.

was impressed with Swindon to be fair. Classic counter attacking football. Simon Cox looks to be a great prospect. I hope he caught pearson's eye. a move for him imo would be a good buy in the summer. they seemed to close us down straight away and the guy in midfield was good too.

Time for dyer to have a rest. he looks badly off the pace at the moment. thought morrison played well today but he was caught for the goal. hobbs was good too. MOTM though was oakley. apart from his crap corners he dragged us to that point. howard was fouled constantly and fryatt was crap. Pentney looked solid when he came on. i'd keep him in the side if martin is going to be out. give him a chance. he looked solid enough, could kick and confident considering it was his first game.

How did Chambers get on yesterday? He has been around for ages now, even though he is young, would be interested to know whether he is going to make it or just drift. When he has come on for matches he doesn't seem to have made much of the chances to date.

Is he a better option than Dickov and Hayles from the bench?

Chambers will develop over time. I have watched him play a lot over the years, from when he used to play for New Parks Alexton, and it was obvious then he was going to go on to the top.

Do you still think that now?

How old is he now? 18, 19?

I'm hoping he gets more of a look in as we get closer to the end of the season... especially if promotion is a certainty early on... I think it's a good chance to give him a run in the first team and see what he can do.

This happens. You'll note it also with Max Gradel.

Today my MOTM was Jack Hobbs, who came upfield brilliantly

I'll agree with the statement that he did well when he came out of defence, but he's a defender and was caught out in conceeding a very soft goal.

Too little too late from Pearson IMO too. Looks difficult justifying campbell being at Blackpool scoring goals when Fryatt is so far off the pace it's unture.

It's true that DJ should have scored lots of goals at our level but he scarcely performed at all let alone under-performed whilst at Leicester.

In my opinion he lost any interest in playing for the club at the point Martin Allen departed.

In my experience, the closer a team gets to promotion, the more vocal and enthusiastic the support.

I guess you have a different experience.

I experienced the absolute opposite yesterday, which could be down to expectation of the fans, the lack of the early goal, or something else.

Dear Mr Pearson,
when you get 5 minutes on Monday, please can you teach someone how to take a decent corner.

Thank you

I agree. The corner taking in recent games has been poor. Winning a corner always gives the crowd a buzz. We then see the big men like Hobbs and Morrison come up - and what happens it fails to get past the first man. It must irritate Hobbs and Morrison; it certainly irritates me. We are a big side and corners should be a major weapon.

I still think that now, it's about time he was given a proper chance to show us what he can do.

Dull game,

Would love to see a replay of the dis-allowed goal,
I thought we played better when Berner came on.
I thought Gilbert was shaky at the back.
Oakley, for me, was MOM.
The pie at half time was alright

I should write for the mercury!:icon_bigg

The most annoying thing about the game was that we never got going yet still created enough chances to win comfortbaly. Hobbs and Morrison to blame for the goal, Cox had already gone between the two of them a minute early and missed, yet they still let him do it again.

NP needs to learn that we cant play King and Oakley in the middle, both like to ponce about on the ball and neither gets a foot in. Even though i dont rate him we looked better when Berner was playing in the middle.

As for King he took the goal well but should have already put us ahead with the header that hit the post, never mind his chance in the first half.

Dyer was embarassing and Mattock getting completely done by Cox in the second half proves he isnt as good as everybody thinks he is.

I thought Chambers looked lively when he came on and I also thought Petney did well when he replaced Martin. Does anybody know what was wrong with Martin? He didnt look like he wanted to come off.

sounds like i missed a thriller!!! :) our unbeaten run will come to an end by the end of the month

This is quite clearly a blip and a dip in form but what is encouraging is that despite not playing particuarly well we are still grinding out results, which shows some grit, character and resillience.

Hopefully we can battle through the and keep our run intact. There was always going to be periods where we struggle especially with a team that contains a few younger players but this is all part of the development. Hopefully Pearson will make a couple of changes to freshen things up and get the bandwagon rolling again, but 17 league games unbeaten is a tremendous achievement.
