Lako generally makes good posts and I generally agree with most of the content but he didn’t rate Vardy well during the game.

I don’t think that this is due to Lako being an arsehole? ;)o_O

We take him and his goals for granted.

I

I think he's the best we've seen since Lineker.

Of course Lako is an excellent contributor and not an arsehole, However, I cannot agree with him on this . I thought Vardy had an excellent game.
.
Lineker was even more deadly in front of goal and Frankie Wortho even more entertaining. However, I would rather have Vardy than either of them because he contributes far more to the overall team.

Gray has deservedly made the headlines but I was also impressed by Chilwell.

This was clearly Mr Puel's team selection and tactics which were very different from Stone Cold Mike Appleton's selection against Swansea. They worked brilliantly and clearly surprised Everton. .

In our great season teams knew how we played and were still unable to stop us. It will be interesting to see how we do against Stoke.

Garth Crooks team of the week.

Demarai Gray (Leicester City)
The 21-year-old England youth international is an excellent athlete, was outstanding against Everton and on this performance deserves to play more games.

Jamie Vardy (Leicester City)
When you have a willing runner in your team like Jamie Vardy, why wouldn't you utilise it? Not since the days of former Liverpool player Ian Rush have I seen a centre-forward close down a defender with the sole aim of getting a block on the ball.

There were numerous occasions against Everton when Vardy sprinted 20 yards to block the ball down the line from the full-back, or force the centre-back to move the ball quickly, pushing him into an error. However, there can be no greater sight for a Leicester fan than seeing Vardy bearing down on the opposition goal.

The speed with which Vardy made up ground to join the attack led by Gray, prior to Riyad Mahrez crossing for Leicester's opening goal, was phenomenal. It said two things - firstly how badly he wanted to score, and secondly how good his level of fitness is.

Absolutely. He’s the talisman of the team, scores goals against ‘big clubs’ and small and that is priceless.

It was just a ****ing tap in!

The clever bit was the precision pass to Mahrez and then the precision pass from Mahrez on to Vardy's foot!

I don’t disagree with any of that.

But as Sky showed, Calvert Lewin had a very similar chance to get in the end of a cross and was in the wrong position to capitalise.

Vardy created another clear cut chance later in the game by being in the right position for a through ball, as he did last week at 2-1 against Swansea. That’s the skill, not just the finish. As BN has said we are very lucky at the moment to have a proper 15-20 goal a season top flight striker for the first time since the mid 80s.

(as a bonus he also single handledy created the Iborra chance with his running and then intelligence to hold play up for support to arrive before putting in a perfect cross)

Sorry Glyn. I forgot one of these. ;) But it was just a bit of a run and then just a ****ing tap in! ;) Like Okazaki scores, but gets little credit for.

There is an art to being a goal scorer and it is a rare one. Watch that goal back and focus on Vardy's little run that turns the cross into a tap in. If it were so easy, why didn't Everton have a player to do it when they put numerous balls into our box?

I'm tempted to say that if even Garth Crooks recognises his contribution, anyone that doesn't isn't saying much for their knowledge of the game.

On that top scorers list, is there another player with six plus goals that clubs wouldn't be queuing to throw obscene amounts at to sign? And then also note the shots on target percentage. Vardy is well clear of anyone with five or more goals.

I wasn't listening to Joey Barton commentate on our game yesterday but his comments about David Unsworth have made the news.

Essentially, he's saying that the vast majority of professional footballers wouldn't take him seriously because of his weight. 'Look at the state of you telling me to run about more' etc. Goodness knows what he'd have made of things had we still had Shakespeare in the other dug out.

Although these views are wrong, there is something in what he's saying. Like it or not, people do judge one another on appearance. I think I might be discriminatory about the weight of our managers. It's more complicated than that though. I would accept a Benitez because he's won stuff and earned the right to be big. However, an Unsworth or a Shakespeare? Hmm.

I think I may have had some negativity about Shakespeare due to his appearance. As a coach, it's okay with me but as a manager? Mark McGhee was a bit of a porker and I never took to him either.

This the same joey Barton who signed for Newcastle because of his admiration for the slender Sam Allardyce? He's a complete ****ing idiot.

That's the point though. His argument is that it's okay to be a fat manager if you've earned the respect of players in advance, i.e. Benitez, Allardyce, Bruce. However, if you're fat and trying to make it as a manager, you've got a major obstacle to win over players because you have no 'credit' to begin with so they can pick on any weakness.

Unsworth could just eat them or kick the shit out of them though.

I didn't think our first goal could be improved upon but watching it with this commentary has achieved it. Skip to 2 mins 36 seconds and enjoy:

Ha ha that’s great. I’d rather subscribe to that channel, even though I can barely understand a word, than a lot of the sterile shite we are fed.

The pass from Gray on his left foot to Mahrez was just sublime.

So then, can you be malnourished and respected as a newbee manager?

The fact is very few players who have never managed make an immediate impact at a top flight club, infact I can not think of any,

I noticed at the time but have been reminded of it watching that clip - did any players celebrate/congratulate Gray for his making of that goal? Did he take part in the celebrations?

Maybe it's just the camera angle and the footage taken, but he looks alone and forgotten. It's all about Vardy and Mahrez. Did anyone go to Gray? Or did he join in and we simply didn't see it?

So to summarise, professional football is basically Lord of the Flies?
