No Simpson, Iborra, Vardy and lost Wes early on. The cover all look ok or better and it was a very nice cameo from Silva - good passes, hustled to win the ball back a few times and was in the 6 yard box for the 3rd goal.

Good second half. Good to see Slimani do well, I still think he can do well here.

Only listened on the radio but apparently Silva looks quality.

Poor and bereft of creativity in the first half, excellent in the second half. Ndidi was excellent throughout and my MoTM. Slimani's energy, persistence and general link up play was also exceptionally good and his finish, like Mahrez's, sublime.

Mentions also for James who was very tidy and kept us ticking over and Amartey who has looked good for the last two games.

Excellent second half against a very poor team. Slimani and James played particularly well but a special mention to Wilf who was tremendous.

Well it was looking like being a case of more of the same - utterly dull, sloppy, devoid of ideas etc, but after a bit of Mahrez magic opened the scoring we looked fantastic and bossed the game. Maybe there was just a bit of low confidence or something creeping in. Slimani at the very least showed he's much more than just a target man, he's deceptively quick and can finish and play link up too - added to his Vardy esque energy levels at chasing nothing balls and putting pressure on defenders. MOM performance from him and I'd be disappointed if we let him go ahead of some of the other forwards in our squad. The trouble we have is that none of our forwards have managed to forge any meaningful partnerships and we look so bad whenever Okazaki doesn't play so we basically have several decent forwards vying for one starting place. Great to finally get a look at Adrien Silva as well, a very energetic 5 minute cameo from him and the upcoming cup game against Fleetwood is an ideal chance to give him plenty of match time.

First half was a bore fest but much better 2nd.

Slimani has definitely earnt his place in the squad with that performance and an excellent finish.

Hard to say much about Silva but he looks quite small. Seemed tidy enough from the brief appearance though.

Just a shame we couldn't have won at least one of Palace or Watford otherwise we would have been right on Burnley's tails.

7th definitely a real possibility this season though if we can keep hold of Mahrez.

Really enjoyed that second half. Clean sheet great to see.

Albrighton and Slimani both superb and deserved their goals. I’d argue Slim influences the game more than Vardy has in recent weeks. Fair play to him.

James looked better than Iborra has in recent weeks.

Ndidi completely dominated the game. Man of the Match for me. He must be worth an absolute fortune.

And Riyad? He’s just exceptional. Not many players in the entire league score that goal.

Huddersfield will struggle badly on today’s evidence. No goal threat.

We looked comfortable, Ndidi bossed the middle and our galloping carthorse showed a deft touch to score. Mahrez's goal was cool as you like, finished perhaps only as he can.

Difficult to know how to read it when we had so much of the game. Many positives, maybe some healthy competition being generated too, great to see Silva who at first glance looks, like Iborra, a cultured reader of the game.

But the thing I noticed most? How lacking Huddersfield were.

Could only see the second half - Thought it was good, confident performance and probably the best I've seen Slimani play. Two well taken goals and then N'didi went close with a powerful header against the bar - and Okazaki had several good opportunities but failed to convert. Encouraging to see us keep up the tempo right to the end in to added time, especially having played so many games recently, and Albrighton deserved his goal for the effort
Oh yes - Welcome Silva!

Couldn't wait for the half time whistle. Don't know what Clause said at the break but it certainly did the job. Dragovic was an absolute wall, much better than previous games. James did a competent job and Mahrez was sublime. As Rock Fox said, the best I've ever seen Slim play. Albrighton had a blinder , Ndidi was everywhere and Shinji didn't stop trying - but all in the second half. Silva is rather exciting from the 8 touches he had. And all with a free beer to kick off 2018. Happy New Year all you TB'ers

Can’t believe we won after that team selection on Saturday.....

Sounds like an ideal win for us.
Hopefully we can focus on here on a decent and competent performance and not on how bad Huddersfield are, which tends to be the way of things.

Incidentally my quick analysis of the Premier League website suggests that Albrighton now has 5 assists in his last 8 games, as well as a couple of goals. His ‘assist’ output had certainly deteriorated over the past year prior to that.

I wish I lived in Huddersfield; it is not often people say that. If I lived in Huddersfield I could have got to the King Power Stadium which I could not get to from Aylestone Village,

No doubt the Huddersfield coaches went happily down the Aylestone Road which is more than the 84 and 85 buses did. I thought of thumbing a lift from a Huddersfield coaxh but doubt whether they would have stopped for me.

Usually I like tradition. However, judging by how full the buses usually are on match days the tradition of having games when there is no public transport inconveniences a lot of people.

The thing that needs to change is the availability of public transport, not the tradition of playing matches on Boxing Day and New Years Day.

Very true.Back in the dim & distant there were Sunday services on both Boxing Day & New Year's Day. Of course that was when buses were run by LCT & subsidised through the rates. Since privatisation...well, same as everything else.
