They just seemed to stick in my head - terrible pass out for a throw after 30 seconds and then a bad pass to Fofana in the second half that also went out for a throw. Thought there were a few more too but obviously not.

He's usually impeccably tidy though, not glamorous/exciting but perfect for the sweeper midfield role and a very good back up for Wilf.

It was a weird formation and tactical approach but I guess it worked.

Iheanacho and Maddison were trying to play the same role. Praet made the best of being wide right. It all added up to giving Barnes loads of opportunities to run in behind and he did well at it.

Sensible substitutions except I don't understand why Under was central rather than out wide. I also cannot see how Soyuncu and Fofana play together in a two. They are both very aggressive and need Evans to do the calm bit.

A lot of our so called elite refs could learn a thing or two from tonight’s ref. She let the game flow and didn’t stop it every time someone rolled in agony like they’d been shot.

Fofana is some player, thought Praet did well and Papy Mendy controlled the defensive midfield superbly

totally agree on the ref. great judgement and management of the game. Mendy, Fuchs, Big Wes and Nacho will be big for us in Europe. Fofana is Van Dijk reincarnate. Barnes could be the white John Barnes if he keeps progressing.
