Excellent performance from start to finish, from the front to the back

Nugent outstanding - and not just because of the goals

Loved it

P.S. Hull were truly shit

How was Konch today? My dad said their goal came down his side but didn't say if he was at fault?

Their goal came through the centre of the pitch, out to the far right (so our left back position) across and in. Matty James for me was too casual in the centre for their goal. Konchesky was just left to try and deal with it.

Best performance of the season by a country mile. Changing to 4-2-3-1 was effective against their sloppy looking 3-5-2. I thought James, Vardy and Marshall were poor but Drinkwater, Knockaert and Nugent were all excellent. Knockaert in particular impressed me. Although he's given lots of licence with a free role, he made it count and his creativity to set up the second (which I saw as a Morgan goal rather than Nugent) was very encouraging.

Apart from an excellent save, Schmeichel wasn't good today, his distribution hasn't been as last season at all as yet. Another player that doesn't quite seem to be the same as he was last term. As expected, Hull were utter dogshite when their Plan A didn't work.

We've now played four of the teams in the top six and none of them were any good.

I thought Konch was our man of the match after Nugent. He was everywhere and I don't remember him putting a foot wrong or misplacing a pass.

Their goal stemmed from a bad pass from de Laet intercepted by a Hull player.

Drinkwater was excellent. James played well (can't understand why people had been slagging him off on here). Marshall was disappointing. No one has mentioned St Ledger. I thought he was outstanding today.

We were excellent today. My biggest worry so far has been the large gap between the midfield and the defence. It was much tighter this afternoon and only exposed once, and even then we recovered well and Hull had to settle for a corner. I did think the whole team as a defensive unit fell asleep for their goal, but these things happen. I've been quite critical of Konchesky since about the turn of the year, so it's only fair that I praise him for a very good performance today. Every player had at least a good game.

We need to use these two wins as a platform for a positive away return from our next two matches. If we manage that I'll be confident that we can challenge this season. A performance like the one today shows the potential is there.

Saw the goals on SSN earlier, seems to me that SSL maybe could have closed down quicker for the goal and De Laet got the wrong side of his man, but goals are generally down to a mistake so I'll let them off as we won.

Is it acceptable to request links to highlights of todays game?

If it is I completely request them. If it's not disregard everything I've ever said ever.

There won't be any yet, unless someone videos their TV, which would probably not be legal.

James played well (can't understand why people had been slagging him off on here).

On one occasion when supposedly supporting Morgan in a dangerous position on the edge of the area, he actually just ran off and left him to it. He misplaced two or three very straightforward passes. He was knocked off the ball easily and he was very soft in the challenge.

Apart from that, I suppose he did okay. He's actually a bit better in the last couple of games than his first couple, but that's just shades of shit.

King was miles superior when he came on.

That would be perfectly legal, unless the copyright holder could demonstrate a pecuniary advantage.

The Hull people are easily startled. But they'll be back, and in greater numbers.
