I suspect our back 3 might be a tad exposed.

That's the problem with these things. You try to fit the best players in rather than pick the best team.

For example, you can't have both Mahrez and Weller as they both play in the same position. Choose one. Same with something like Kante vs. Lennon. Also, Vardy and Lineker wouldn't work. Either with a Worthington or a Smith would be better.

I don’t think Muzzy is controversial at all. Perhaps McAllister?

Walsh’s, there’s more competition, but he’s undoubtedly an icon.
They were very good for what we were at the time, and for the manager they played for. Ten years ago I might have still included Muzzy. There’s a reason, though, why the big clubs never sniffed around the players in that team, and Lennon and Guppy went to Scotland to play on easy mode. As good as they were, I’m not sure they have a place in an all-time XI.

If we are serious about putting this team together I have my concerns about the availability of a few of them.

Of players I've seen play in my lifetime:

Schmeichel
Ricardo, Elliott, Huth, Fuchs
Mahrez, Kante, Youri, Guppy
Vardy, Heskey.

What a team that would be.

Pains me to leave out Muzzy but Youri is the better player. I'd have Muz over Drinkwater though.

Cambiasso?

I loved Lineker, Draper, Rooster, Heskey, Collymore, Lennon, Muzzy etc but in reality, the 2015/16 side is pretty close to perfect. They won it ffs!!!!

Perhaps not the best players on an individual basis but as a unit and for what they achieved - they were historically the greatest team Leicester have ever produced

Have to admit I've never even heard of Sjoberg
Played in the 60s, a good friend ran a printing company in Leicester I’m pretty certain that John would have been flattered by being named in that team, a very solid player and played in the ICE KINGS team.

Go on then…..

It’s hard to argue against a World Cup-winning keeper, except with maybe a PL and FA Cup winner. Either one is a good shout.

Huth for Walsh. Tielemans for Izzet.

In fact, Lineker doesn’t get in for me. Vardy has a more complete set of skills, and has helped complete our domestic trophy collection. Most of Lineker’s senior City career was in Division 2. No idea who replaces the jug-eared **** though. Some big bastard.

Everyone loves Lineker.
BUT.

Yes, he was fast. Vardy faster.
Yes, he scored loads of goals, most from 6 yards out, or pens.
Yes, he could read situations, Cottee better.

Sorry Gary, Frank Worthington (goal scorer, fancy footballing skills, talent on the ball) and Vardy for me in the starting line-up.

Anyhow, these selections are just a bit of fun. You can't really pick a best set of players of 100+ years together in the same team. Frank W + Jamie V together up front? I'd really love to see that :)
What about that Arthur bloke up front? He could score a few goals, couldn't he?

Rowley? If so he was assistant to Geoff Hurst at Telford United way back , 1976 I think it was, when I led the mighty Robins to a 2-1 FA Cup fourth qualifying round defeat.
