Ohh I think that you are now taking the pithe. We do need to change our formation, we are becoming too predictable. We miss Kante, otherwise we could play 4 3 3 1. Could you please give me a better tactical formation which will give our opponents a different challenge than the one which we have served up in the last 12 months. I know that we won the Premier League playing 4 4 2, but we also managed the great escape playing 3 5 2. We are capable of playing different formations. All I am asking for is a little bit of imagination.

I don't think Puel will change anything for his first match, he'll want to see the players in their usual positions before deciding what changes need to be made.

We played 4-4-2 at times during the matches, but more often than not was 4-4-1-1 or 4-2-3-1.
 
For what it’s worth frank, I agree with you that we should mix the formation we play up a bit as we are a bit predictable.

But preferring to play Chilwell and Ndidi just behind Vardy ahead of Okazaki is bordering on insanity.

I think that more often than not, it was 4 4 2. I remember the guy on Sky Sports saying that as of tomorrow, he would play his youth team 4 4 2.

I think that 4 4 2 surprised everybody as it seemed so outdated. We do need to progress. Maybe Puel has given the Directors enough ideas as to how he would change things to get him the job. I am really excited about Sunday, although I think that the selection and formation will be more Appleton than Puel. If I got the job, I would listen first, then act second. That is why we have two ears and one mouth. (a bit of old management speak)
 
Some are getting so hung up on formations.
Let's get them to get the ball on the floor first, then pass to a fellow city player.
The last few games we have started to do this, and the formation hasn't needed to be discussed.
Oh, and drop Vardy, put Slim up front with Shinji, then bring Ian n JV on after 60.

I would play 1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1 . If our keeper takes the ball to the edge of the penalty area and passes then each subsequent player would only have to pass forward only 8.5 yards (surely they could manage that) and the ball would arrive at the feet of Vardy on the opposition penalty spot. With his pace and finishing ability he ought to score a few. The opposition would be playing 4-4-2 or 3-5-1 or something equally clever so would be spread out over the pitch looking confused. When they have the ball then we all run back into our penalty area. Simples !!!
 
I don't think he'll change a thing for the first match.

Let's hope that the players are out there to impress the new boss.

I hope the rumours of him having difficulty dealing with certain players don't become reality here.

I also hope the players have enough respect to realise that he has won trophies before and managed in Europe and therefore give him a real chance.

4-4-2 is not outdated in my opinion and there are plenty of variations of it. We'll go for that this weekend.

This. People talk in these neat-sounding little number codes as if they actually mean something out on the pitch. Not all 4-4-2s are the same.

Exactly why Ozakaki is key (given the less than dynamic CM). He drops making a 4-5-1. We have no other foward able to play that role effectively. Nacho states he prefers to play behind the striker, but until we’ve a stronger midfield or switch to a 3 at the back Shinji is our man.. or maybe Puel will have the knackers to drop Vardy for some games and play either Nacho/Slim up top.

Simpson, Maguire, Morgan, Fuchs
Mahrez, Ndidi, Iborra, Albrighton
Slimani, Vardy
 
I'll be stunned if he doesn't start with the same eleven that started against Swansea.

I want the new man to start with a clean slate, hopefully that means moving some of the furniture.
