Obviously there needs to be reserve games. However there always seems to be something artificial about such games. I am a great believer in putting our youngsters on loan to lower league teams in games that matter.
I grew up with non-League football at Worcester City. Those non-League games mattered deeply for club and players. The supporters were closer to the players and were able to vent their feelings at under-performers very effectively. I would guess this may be even truer at League Two. Reserve football with its lack of passion and edge can never be as good a teacher.

Where is Nicky Adams?

I imagine he will go to Brentford (or somewhere) before the end of the transfer window. He pulled out of the transfer because he thought he might be able to force his way into Paulo's plans. He clearly hasn't, so I reckon we'll see him piss off pretty quickly now. He seems very keen on first team football, so fair play to him.
