Yakuba also showed his true potential today having someone close to him to do the running about, in Vassell. Those two could be outstanding together next season.

The ref was so bad, I am astonished he did not penalise the Yak for shoving over their goalie, when he slotted in his second!

Some guy behind me slagged Yakubu off all game and booed him when he came on. Great to see Yakubu back among the goals.

Disagree with FOX_Franks that Watford were the better side first half. We were the better side in both halves by a distance, they essentially had 2 chances from 2 defensive errors and that was it. Watford were poor, the scoreline ended up flattering them if anything.

It looked like it was a Watford defender who clattered into the keeper and caused him to drop more than Yakubu to me.

^ It was difficult to tell though as they went in about the same time, but it looked like the defender clattered into him first and the ball left the keeper's hands to his left which is what you'd expect more if it was the defender who caused him to drop it, rather than Yakubu, given the relative positions of the pair.

Also, I make that the third season (i.e. season in which we played Watford, so not counting the League One season) in a row in which we've hit 4 past Watford at home.

(sorry for the triple post, the edit post function is taking an age for my snail paced internet).

Fantastic second half performance, really enjoyed watching the boys do their thing in the sunshine.

Weale - 6 - Hardly anything to do in the forst half apart from pick the ball out his net twice. Couple of decent stops in the second half.

Naughton - 6 - Massive cock up for their first goal but a fairly standard performance from him after that. Supported Vassell well down the wing 2nd half.

Vitor - 7 - Rock solid as usual, attacked the ball and did a good job on Graham as did Mee.

Mee - 7 - Would have been an 8 but for the mistake/failure to make a tackle for their second goal. Always blocking through balls and getting in the way of crosses though. Unlucky not to score but his shot hit the Yak.

Van Aanholt - 6 - See Naughton, apart from the blunder for the goal obviously

Abe - 7 - Looked far more comfortable when he moved into the centre. Did a far better job in there than Wellens did.

Wellens - 5 - Pretty crappy showing from Richie, the same old case if Wellens doesn't play well, the whole team suffers.

Bruma - 8 - I'd only seen him play against Portsmouth before today and he was a bit shit. Bossed the midfield today though, always finding time and space to move it on the the more creative players. Also scored two absolute blooters obviously.

Gallagher - 6 - Pretty quiet, failed to have a massive impact. He, along with everyone else improved in the second half though.

King - 6 - See Gallagher.

Vassell - 7 - Looked lonely as a striker but very effective on the wing.

SUBS

Yakattack - 8 - Turned the game on its head and gave us exactly what we were lacking. Held the ball up well, made life much harder for their centre backs and scored a very calm first followed by a delightfully cheeky second. Pure quality in front of goal, no doubt about it.

Dyer - Didn't touch the ball.

Tunch - Lovely to see him back on the pitch and lets hope that this isn't another false start for him.

Its a good job Morrison wasn't part of that back line, or things could have got a little x-rated.

Good spot though.

Mee - 7 - Would have been an 8 but for the mistake/failure to make a tackle for their second goal. He pulled a muscle and fell down clutching it, hard to blame him Always blocking through balls and getting in the way of crosses though. Unlucky not to score but his shot hit the Yak.I'm sure it hit Vassell, but that's semantics

Was I watching a different game or are you lot making up this change of formation? (or just believing everything that radio Leicester say).

There was no change in shape, just personnel.

Strange game with a definite end of season feel to it, Couple of quality goals from Bruma. We must have about 20 goals this season that could easily win goal of the season.

Managed to catch one of the shirts they were shooting out of the gun at half time, didn't particularly want it but it was worth it to see the disappointed face of the little brat sat behind me.

Thanks Beights, couldn't remeber if it was Gally or King that challenged Loach. As for blaming Mee, Bruma played so well I needed to have a go at someone........

Vitor - 7 - did a good hand job on Me.

Mee - 7 - Unlucky not to score but he shot his bolt

Abe - 7 - Did a far better blow job than Wellens or Homer did.

Bruma - 8 - always finding time and space to move it on up

Vassell - 7 - Looked lonely but very effective on the swing.

SUBS

Yakattack - 8 - made it much harder

Dyer - Didn't touch my balls.

On what grounds, exactly?

Because he was "fat" and "dogshite."

His mate's were doing the Poznan after all 4 goals and he actually refused to join in for the second because Yakubu scored it: "I don't know how any Leicester fan can celebrate that fat bastard scoring" :icon_roll Changed his mind and joined in for his second as well.

Glad he was a one off and doesn't sit behind me every week.

Nope completely agree with you. It looked like the usual system to me.

I think you must be imagining things PR. We didn't play Watford at home the season we went down. Crazy talk to suggest we did!

Han, I'd agree with you, it's just the personnel that was different. And I thought after a slightly shaky opening 5 we dominated the first half and as usual shot ourselves in the foot, twice. Yak opener from where I sat looked like a foul, but the ref was poor for both teams with some challenges. But credit to leicester as they never looked back and the way we keep the ball and play our way out is just terific to see.

And when you think Bruma, Mee & PVA have played little to NO first team football before, and how much Vitor's played I'm not sure?? but they look like they will be very good players with more experience.

Sorry, forgot about that. :icon_wink
