On more than one occasion

What precisely do they do all feckin' week that makes them unable to take a simple feckin' corner ?

And don't get me started on those brilliant 'short corner' abominations we saw half a dozen times

Pathetic

Embarrassing isn't it? I know Vardy isn't a normal corner taker, but his late effort at Burnley was so woeful.

I'd like to think even I could beat the first man.

IMO we've got to attack this game with a strong team in the hope of progressing and trying to build some all important confidence/momentum. Having said that, I think to put out our strongest team we probably need to drop 3 of the back 4, plus Drinkwater, Mahrez and Vardy xD

The win at Everton didn't kick start our season, so why would a win against Derby be different?

This game is so far from being important.

why shouldn't it?

Any win can be the spark needed to start a run. It's any single win that is always at the start of a streak. without it you can't have one.

As I said before, we scored some goals against Everton and found an ounce of belief, and since then we haven't scored in the league. Surely that defies your logic?

It's a different competition. One that means F all in the context of this season.

Put the ressies out, get out of the competition, and let's focus on getting 3pts against our relegation rivals.

We scored some goals and then we dropped the goalscorer from his central role and went back to the guy who couldn't score in a room full of Becky's.

change the team, play, win and keep the players who did well for the Swans match.

I think Schmeichel as captain makes perfect sense. He's refreshingly honest, straight to the point and is always pushing people onward.

Think he'd be a terrible captain. Seems totally up his own arse - which is good for a goalie but bad for a captain.

Drinky or Huth for captain. Maybe Ndidi if he can communicate well with the others.

I think he was supposed to play central up front against Chelsea, but kept drifting out wide to his preferred position.

Why should it?

Becasue a win will start to give them some self-belief again. Have you never won after a losing streak in some kind of sport in your life?

Yea, he had the audacity to tell me to cheer them on before spunking the ball straight into the 1st defender.

Pretty much summed the whole scenario up.

That's true but at least he had a go at trying to make something happen. When he did find Morgan with one, the ball was headed back across goal in space but not one of our witless buffoons anticipated it.

One very noticeable thing about Gray and Mahrez was that whenever they got the ball, 3 Man Utd players converged on them. When their wingers got the ball they had so much time and space it was embarrassing.

And another thing, if Mahrez had put as much effort into his game as Gray did, then we may possibly have had a chance of a goal.

Like at Everton?

I don't think fif is suggesting it happens every time the first win occurs after a losing strike. But it won't be happen if you don't win a game at all. Winning is good, losing is bad.

If only the players and manager had twigged that.

Despite being wank and low on confidence we will win this one. We are far superior to Derby and the players will now react to the Manchester United defeat. I strongly believe we will be relegated but I also believe that we will now begin to see some fight. I expect to see a 3-0 win and a brief glimpse of optimism.

Agree, we had plenty of corners ( Soz - can't be bothered with the actual stats) and not one produced a worthwhile attempt on goal. If our players are moaning about extra training practices - it's because even CR can see that they can't get a a corner (or even a flippin' throw-in, for crying out loud) - that goes to one of our own players.

In another thread, City Fan said...

Surely he'll give Benny an opportunity? Surreeelllyy

I don't understand what the situation is with him, I really don't. It's been clear for some time that we need to change something at centre back but Benny doesn't get a look in. Can he really be that unreliable?

Morgan imo needs a break as a priority because whilst Huth does make mistakes, he's not shown quite the decline that Morgan has. Huth is a less mobile player generally and sticks to his game, again generally speaking, more consistently than Wes. Ideally they both need a break, and maybe we'll see that as soon as Swansea with Amartey and Wague praps coming in, but it's seems CR doesn't trust/rate Benalouane.

Suffice it to say that against Derby, I reckon it's going to be Huth and Morgan.

the last hurrah of Morgan and Huth or a very short hiatus?
