I could have said that Maddison's contribution at Man City was the first decent thing he's done for us since New Years day. I could also have got into what happened to the pre COVID Praet (good) vs. the post COVID Praet (bad).

Instead I just tried to see what evidence there is that Maddison has earned a start over Praet so I used what was available. Of course there is limited evidence but it's better than just making stuff up.

For what it's worth, I'd play both of them.

Of the recent round of internationals he didn't play in any game and was an unused sub once and that was for Sunday's match.
