I think a lot of our 1st team squad are still not yet completely match fit and will get better with more match minutes. As such I would be inclined to field a strong team, including Pereira, Amartey and Soumare, Lookman, Perez, Barnes and Daka. With Maddison and Iheanacho off the bench. Add to those Ward, Vestergaard, Bertrand, Thomas and KDH and we should be good to go.

I see this match as a chance to build on the confidence gained over the last week and add more match fitness to some important players.

7 changes from the weekend. Retain Ricardo, Amartey, Soumare, Soyuncu - they need to be played into consistent form.
bring in Ward, Thomas, KDH, Perez, Lookman, Daka, Barnes.
We sould look to keep it tight and play on the break for first 60 and then look to bring on players to dominate later in the game.

Ward
Ricardo Amartey Soyuncu Thomas
KDH Soumare
Lookman Perez Barnes
Daka

I agree we should be resting players, but there's a slim chance we could win this trophy and it would be a shame to throw it away by playing the likes of Benchovic and Danny Wank.

27 OCTOBER ANNIVERSARY TO BE MARKED AT KING POWER STADIUM

Khun Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha, Kaveporn Punpare, Nusara Suknamai, Eric Swaffer and Izabela Lechowicz will be remembered by the Leicester City family this month, as the Club prepares to mark the third anniversary of the tragedy that claimed their lives.

Club Chairman, Khun Vichai; staff members, Kaveporn and Nusara; and pilots Eric and Izabela were on-board Khun Vichai’s helicopter when it crashed outside King Power Stadium on 27 October, 2018.

Since that date, 2021 is the first year in which a First Team fixture falls on the 27 October, with the Foxes hosting Brighton & Hove Albion in the fourth round of the Carabao Cup at King Power Stadium that evening. Supporters attending the game will be invited to take their seats early, with a crowd display and a minute’s silence to be held before kick-off.

The Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha Memorial Garden will host private services on the day, but will be open to the public between 11am and 4:15pm, and again from 5pm. Supporters are very much welcome to visit the garden during opening times should they wish to pay their respects and for a moment of quiet reflection.

Khun Vichai’s amazing legacy at Leicester City was defined by his belief in achieving the seemingly impossible – realised in the most incredible fashion when his team reached the top of the English football pyramid to lift a legendary Premier League title in 2016.

That legacy continues to grow to this day, under Chairman Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha, with the Football Club now the current FA Cup holders, playing in European competition, competing in the FA Women’s Super League and developing talent through one of the world’s best training facilities in Seagrave – a key part of the Srivaddhanaprabha family’s vision for the Club.

Plans for the next phase of that vision – the expansion and development of the King Power Stadium site – have recently been shared with supporters and will be a cornerstone of the Club’s commitment to remaining an asset to the city and a force for good among its communities.

The late Chairman’s commitment to supporting good causes in our communities is maintained by the Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha Foundation, which continues to work towards short and long-term solutions to help those in need throughout Leicestershire and beyond. For more information, click HERE.

Got tickets for this one with the kids. Didn't realise the significance of the date.

I am in two minds as to whether we play a vastly changed team: as has been said, this could be a cosy route to more silverware (and Europe).

If we do play our second string and are beaten by a stronger Brighton team, I hope there won't be criticism of the management and the team that plays, from those who advocated a weakened side.

That's entirely dependent on the strength of the opposition. If Brighton make an equivalent number of changes, I'll be more annoyed if we lose than if both sides played their best players.

In simple terms, our 12th to 22nd best players should be substantially superior to theirs. Mostly because we've been spending a fortune over recent years making sure of it.

With Low, Jarrett and Funcats on the bench?

Wilf and Justin back out on the grass.

He isn't bad at all. He's a perfectly fine replacement. That won't stop this boring old toss of a line being trotted out before every cup game though.
There's really no reason to play him just for the sake of it when we have a far superior option who is more than capable of playing the match.

I am. The pricing isn’t bad and we’re now a bigger team than we were.

Why aren’t you?
Because the club does very little to let those who don't usually attend know that's a piece of piss to get a ticket for once.
