Maddison out of the game and 'in consultation with our doctors and specialists'. That sounds like the last we've seen of him for a little while then. If they don't know the nature or seriousness by Wednesday after Sundays game then you'd think they are umming and ahhing about repeating what he had to have done at the end of last season.
Leaves us exposed as Praet came in for him when out earlier in the season, but we don't have that luxury now.
Only answer i can see is to move Tielemans further forward with Choudhury/Mendy behind
OR
go more attacking and have Barnes in behind Vardy with Albrighton and Ricardo on the flanks.
runs the risk of derailing Barnes....

Schmeichel
Castagne Evans Soyuncu Thomas
Ndidi Tielemans
Ricardo Barnes Albrighton
Vardy

So potentially significant layoffs for...

Fofana
Justin
Maddison
Praet
Perez

Nacho suspended too, obviously.

Really going to struggle for creativity in the side.

I wonder if any of the youngsters might be a better creative option than Mendy or Choudhury?

I don't really follow our development teams but I'm led to believe Tavares is quite attack minded?

I'd go with,

Schmeichel
Amartey Soyuncu Fuchs
Albrighton Mendy Choudhury Thomas
Under Vardy Barnes

I still think it's critical to protect Evans, Ndidi and Tielemans for the PL.

If they play with the same 'energy' then I fear we're out. I can't see us matching them in that department whoever we field, so maybe we ought protect players. It would be nice of course if the ref offered us a little more protection than last time out but we can't expect them to nanny us, and we can't bank on it. It could be a rough ride. We can hope our pitch helps our game more than theirs but we're clutching.

I reckon they'll score early and we'll be chasing.

I reckon adopt the same approach (albeit minus Maddison) and look to blitz them in the first half and protect in the second. Wishful thinking but better than not getting our nose in front, chasing, going to extra time etc.

Schmeichel
Castagne Evans Soyuncu Thomas
Ndidi Tielemans
Ricardo Barnes Albrighton
Vardy

then retrench to Mendy, Choudhury, Amartey as the game progresses if we have the luxury to do so.

Kasper

Castagne Evans Soyuncu Thomas

Tielemans Ndidi Hamza

Under Vardy Barnes
keep Barnes and Under higher up the pitch and use the energy of Wilf and Hamza to cover

The 0-0 first leg result wasn't good. No away goal gives them the advantage. They were a poor side though.

I want top four and our best chance of achieving this is to go out of the EL quickly. Our injury list is only going to get worse with two matches every week. I think BR pretending that we can achieve everything is barmy.

Probably best to go out unluckily blaming officials. Let's hope for a crooked ref.

I'm more concerned about defence than attack.
We have to stop them scoring - if they go a goal up they will do everything legal and not so legal to make it very difficult.

Is there extra time or straight to penalties at 90 mins?
