It's important for young professional footballers to travel around the world to train in exceptionally humid conditions and do lots of photo opportunities to make it seem like the owner is a right popular chap.

My first warning sign that Maresca might not have a strong grasp over the job he has was this trip going ahead.

Any manager with half a brain would have said it needed to be cancelled. It's borderline okay if we'd stayed up and had another week of preparation before the start of the season. However, with us kicking off our season in 14 days, this is just absurd.
