Double header against the sheep shaggers :)

Tuesday, 07 August 2007
NatWest Pro40 - Division Two
Derbyshire v Leicestershire, Derby, 15:40 (Live on Sky)

Thursday, 09 August 2007
LV County Championship - Division Two
Leicestershire v Derbyshire, Grace Road, 11:00

Jerome Taylor should make his debut tonight :038:

I'd be disappointed if we didnt get 2 wins out of 2. Derbyshire are a one man team with Katich really :icon_razz

great start tonight

Pretty decent bowling effort although our catching wasnt too sharp.

HD gone early now. I hope the fact that we're only playing 4 batsmen could come back and haunt us.

bad light stopped play

hope its not for to long

Well I went to the pub because of getting too bored of the sun break, come back to find a 1 narrow wicket win

Happy days

Snapey batted really well and along with some big hitting from Taylor saw us home.

Not sure if we can afford to play only 4 specialist batsmen though. Having said that an attack of Broad, Kruger, Taylor and Masters at least looks a bit more menacing now.

Yeah definately, I like us playing four pacemen, it gives us a lot of options.

If Broad is available on thurs then I'd like to see us play that attack again
New
Maunders
Ackerman
Jacobs
Allenby
Nixon
Amjad
Broad
Masters
Taylor
Kruger

Could be Stuart's last game of this season (ever?) for us.

From the official site

If Stuart Broad is not selected to make his Test debut against India at the Brit Oval, he will travel back to Grace Road to face Derbyshire.

Should the 21-year-old seamer be included in England’s starting line-up, then left arm spinner Claude Henderson will fill the final bowling spot.

West Indian paceman Jerome Taylor will make his Championship debut for the Club and if Broad is available, Leicestershire will field a formidable four-probged pace attack including Garnett Kruger and David Masters.

While Senior Coach Tim Boon awaits news from the Brit Oval, he has nevertheless presented a chance for Marc Rosenberg to fill one of the frontline batting places ahead of left-hander Arno Jacobs.

143/4 Dreadful start but we've somewhat recovered. Allenbys got a 50. Hopefully the tail can wag and we can get into them.

Lungley is having a great season but I dont think any of the other Derbyshire bowlers will really trouble us.

270odd all out and Derbys 51-6 :038:

Masters has terrific figures....Taylor came on second change!

Pitch inspection presumably tomorrow, as 16 wickets have fallen

good bowling performance today and useful runs by the tailenders

don't think we needed 4 paceman on this pitch, we are a batsman short. hopefully we can get a 320 or so lead. Broad hopefully wants to prove he can bat for England.

Broady stranded on 91* Leics get 344 so Derbyshire need 425 to win.

I think the balance of this team was fine for this game. Considering Ackerman, Rosenberg, Nixon and Amjad have both failed twice this game then we've done quite well.

I like having four big pacemen in the side :038:
