Southgate SHOULD be sacked... rare instance where a club sticks with a manager, far longer than they should.


Boro have signed Yeates, but he won't be anymore than backup. Adam Johnson will be far too good for this league, and Yeates is just a cheap backup for him. If them bringing in cheap backup like that means they can keep hold of some of their bigger/better players, then it's a good idea.

Boro will win the league.

They stilll have Aliadere,O'Neil,Arca,Riggott,Wheater,Tuncay,Johnson,Pogatez.

if they still have all of those by the end of august, they've got a great chance of going back up, those players are way too good for the championship, esp. tuncay.

The only one that I would take out of that lot is o'neil.

Johnson looks good but it will only take a couple of games and he'll get smashed by a 6"6' centre back. We then won't see any more of him. The rest are distinctly average. For me boro were terrible last season and looked completely out of their depth for the majority of the season.

I have to agree (equally don't feel comfortable with the concept though), I know I might be proved wrong but thought they looked good each way value at 40/1 three weeks ago, they're now in to 16/1. That doesn't necessarily mean they'll do well but is a sign that they've been attracting quite a bit of betting money

Will be interested to see Boro's attendances this season. Looked like they were struggling even when they were in the prem.

Totally agree. A lot of good young players and some stability. I think they will win this league.

I wonder why it is so many people say Middlesbrough are Premiership quality. They were nowhere near Premiership quality last season and if anything their squad is inferior now, having signed a Division Three winger, a Division Three goalie and a striker considered not good enough for Reading. I reckon they'll do alright but I'm starting to worry about my prediction that they'll win the title, which was made weeks ago on the assumption that they'd sign good players, not Danny Coyne.

On 'Boro, I think they will struggle. Young team, not much of a winning mentality, AWOL forwards (are they still at the club?), manager still with a lot to prove
