I thought it was Colchester United.
It is, I used to live nr Colchester and they applied for city status on a number of occasions and is still not one of the 66 officially recognised cities in the UK

It is the 25th largest town without a city status

Maybe Colchester City ply their trade in the Unibond League that would be right for Levein.

Does Colchester have a cathedral, thats one of the criteria for being a city.

A common misconception that you could easily be forgiven for.

There 18 cities without a Cathedral & 15 towns that do have one without city status

Largest towns never to have won the Champions of top flight football. Considering Bristol has two teams, I think that should put us in poll position :089:

1 Bristol 420,556
2 Leicester 330,574
3 Coventry 303,475
4 Hull 301,416
5 Bradford 293,717
6 Cardiff 292,150
7 Stoke 259,252
8 Plymouth 243,795
9 Southampton 234,224
10 Reading 232,662
11 Brighton and Hove 206,628
12 Dudley 194,919

We're probably the ones that have got closest to winning it out of all these teams because we finished 2nd in the top flight in 1929. I remember that like it was yesterday! :icon_wink
