It is, I used to live nr Colchester and they applied for city status on a number of occasions and is still not one of the 66 officially recognised cities in the UK

It is the 25th largest town without a city status

No way. They had a few years of success under Clough, but other than that they have an average history. Viler are probably historically the most successful midlands club.
