heres a few i found everyone post them on this thread ;)

"he was good in the air due to his height, and the fact that 90% of league 2 football is played up there (no matter what other teams might think!) probably made him look better than he is and he could get found out with more football being played to feet."

"Good luck to the lad. Been a great player for us. Deserves to play at a higher level. Hope he does really well."

"I don't actually think he's good enough for the Championship at the moment. Don't get me wrong he is a good player, but I think he might take some time to get up to that level."

"i agree not good enough for championship obviously he is good at winning headers because of his size but i reckon he will get skinned by the quicker players in that league and his ball distribution is terrible. but goodluck to him has served us well and deserves a chance"

"Although Gareth was without doubt one of our best defender's there was times, especially towards the end of the season when his positional play was certainly inferior to Jamies IMO."

well done garath im sure he will be a success. A player of his talent doesnt belong in are division. Will the board ever learn the amount we have gained in fees for the outgoing players is a joke.

It was common knowledge that Mcauley verbally agreed this deal months ago and that is why the Crewe deal collapsed....Good Luck to him but no doubt he has got a big signing on fee

I am very pleased for gareth, we couldnt have expected a talent like him to remain in league two for another season. However I feel appalled that our two best defenders (barring morgan) have left for a combined total of just £5000.

Good luck Gareth, well done, and thanks for everything. Now can the board pull their finger out and ensure that we never ever let a possible quarter of a million quid talent go for free again? Thanks.

Similar comments to the ones Oxford fans said when Matt Elliott moved, ie. pace maybe a problem and that he probably wouldn't be able to make the improvement

Not that I'm suggesting McCauley will be as good but he's a similar size and if he can add aerial ability in both penalty boxes then he will be an asset for us.

I agree Dunc, although we have looked pretty solid defensively, the shortfalls have been arial(particularly at set pieces) and we do need to score more ourselves from set pieces, (if we ever find someone to put in decent crosses)

Our defending from corners has been Comic Sans exception. There's no kind of System.
