Souttar and Nelson both having outstanding seasons. We get to watch Faes and Okoli though so it's alright.

Like @TommyK says though, it's the way we are set up that is making it so easy for the opposition. Our defenders are being thrown to the wolves.

I’m a fan of Souttar.

But comparing performances from players in two different divisions is just a bit daft.

We should be playing Nelson today.

Plainly obvious he’s got the goods.

Instead we’ve got the collection of bomb scares to select from.
Again, wibble of the highest order.

A handful of games in the Championship and we should be playing him because it’s plainly obvious he’s got the goods to be able to play in the Premier League?

Is it all that daft?

Good defending is a skill. It's about positioning and foresight. It's also about making sure you use your brain and organise those around you when needs be. Of course, they need to be set up properly or course but that's a different debate.

Okoli doesn't do any of this. Faes is capable of it but is not consistent.

Souttar may be playing at a slightly lower level but he's doing these things game in, game out as is Nelson. The art of defending isn't difficult, but it can be made to look ****ing impossible by our lot at times.

It’s almost like we knew this would be the case. I saw him at Preston, top player. Everton sad to see him go. We then do nothing with him. Then he goes on loan and you just knew he’d kill it! It’s like some sort of curse at Leicester with recent strikers except Vards. Especially if the striker is touted to be a “star” or has huge potential.

Souttar sent off for two yellows in the first half on Friday night.
