Just listened to the post match.

Not the biggest Stringer fan, me.

Either I've changed or he has. I used to be able to listen to him and think he was an okay commentator - in comparison to previous ones we've had to endure. I've even defended him on here.

I can't do it any more. He's so irritating. I think it's since Jason Bourne left and that infant moron replaced him. Then Elliott went and Piper came in. He's got nobody left to call him out.

What gets me is that the demographic for listening to Radio Leicester must be mainly old men. Surely his banter and wacky inane nonsense doesn't appeal to those people? So he's only doing it to entertain himself. Which, due to the unique way that the BBC is funded, is apparently sustainable.

Have you ever heard their 'extra' podcasts with the singer from Kasabian that they stick on at the end of the Football Forum? They're an endurance challenge beyond the most patient listener. Just a thick singer spouting on about farting on a tour bus and swearing and Stringer and the infant giggling away like primary school kids. It's horrific.

From overhearing him talking to his colleague in town a few years ago, I don't think it is. I think he's happy where he is mainly for family reasons. Of course, it could have been a case of "I didn't fancy her anyway" in that he's turning down opportunities he was never offered in the first place...
