serendipity
ˌsɛr(ə)nˈdɪpɪti/
noun
  1. the occurrence and development of events by chance in a happy or beneficial way.
    "a fortunate stroke of serendipity"
    synonyms: chance, happy chance, accident, happy accident, fluke;
To me this is Mahrez. Pure luck we got him, the scouting team were looking at someone else and this is who we ended up with. Pure chance, but without him we'd never have won the league. In all my (many) years of following this club, I have never seen a player like this ( and I include Weller, Frank Worthington and the God that is Muzzy Izzett in this) in all that time. We've been blessed to have him. He's handle'd this period with real class compared to others. When he does go, he'll go with my blessing, having left me with the best memories.
I'll never forget that pass to Vardy against Chelsea or his goal against Man. City among many other moments. Lets enjoy the next few months. He's a legend.

Thank you.

Bloody show pony. Can't believe we have persisted with him for so long.

I've watched two minutes of that video and I'm already finding myself realising that I'd forgotten just how good Mahrez is. We'd have been crazy to let him go for 30m.

...especially when Drinkwater has brought us in a higher figure.

From the mockery concerning Mahrez's decision to leave Algeria and fly to Paris on deadline day...

"It is also certain that his representatives were trying to engineer a deal, but their efforts came to nothing."

For me the whole thing is just really disrespectful. He has a contract and we decide who he talks to if anyone at all.

I'm embarrassed for him. This is starting to leave a bitter taste.

What he did was sensible in his position, I don't like that he wants to leave, but he does and he has made decisions that reflect that. No big deal.

Especially as his reference point has always been the promise (by Ranieri?) made last summer at the time of him signing the new four year contract that he could leave if he wanted to after a year. He has not acted in any way dishonourably or dishonestly, though perhaps naively

If we had accepted a bid for him, he would have needed to have a medical and sign forms etc. I presume it would have been easier to get wherever he needed to go from Paris, than from Africa. Given that he had the permission of the Algerian FA, I don't see the problem with it.

I'm happy he's still with us and he has an incentive to do well for us, so, for me, that's a good thing. I certainly won't be holding it against him and there are plenty of other examples of players downing tools, whereas he hasn't (so far).

The guy has ambitions he believes he cannot realise with us and has said so, including the 'gentleman's agreement' with Ranieri that he would only stay for 1 more year, last season.

So far this season he is playing nearly as well as in the 2016 Champions seasons, and certainly is not behaving badly or disrepectfully towards the club.

He is not a sulky, grumpy git, like Drinkwater was, and he has not just buggered off like Costa has. And unlike those two, he has not put in a formal transfer request.

As long he continues to 'put in a shift', and produces performances as good or better than the first 3 games this season, he will certainly maintain my support.

His (and anyone else's) gentlemans agreement with Ranieri might have stood if he, and the rest of his teammates, hadn't have played so shit last season which caused Ranieri's departure.

All because chicken nuggets were taken off the menu...

I missed the 'wink' emoji missing off the end, so will not take your comment too seriously. Chicken nuggets may have been just one symptom of Ranieri losing the plot in year 2.

Plus he had 12 players marking him every game :064:

Personally I do not trust Mahrez anymore, I am fully expecting to see a return to the disinterested waste of space of last season, I suspect I'm not alone in that view.

I think Mahrez now knows that to get someone to put down a £50million wedge on the table, he is going to have to put in performances similar to 2 years ago.

That's the way. Disregard everything he's done for us over a few newspaper snippets and overly blown stories of treachery.
