Why are you making an excuse for him, if he's really the player people say he should be dragging a performance out of others at times, he's been poor all season, it's ok to say that
What excuse do you think I'm making for him?

If you've read any of my posts you'd see that I've been highly critical of him.

I suggest you crawl back under your rock.

Saying you'll let him off cus others were poor is making an excuse for him so get out of your Ivory tower

He had one good shot on goal. straight at the keeper though.

He can be sublime at times but how many sublime actions make up for being a passenger and defensive nightmare. He needs to score and make goals enough for us to win games. West Brom have no-one within a mile of his skill level and they're sitting safely way above us.

Those who want to see the back of Mahrez are simply delusional on where this club is.. I understand the fickle nature of the football fan, but my God doesn't Rhyiad deserve slightly more loyalty after all he delivered last season?

As did CR. but football is a business. I hope Mahrez stays but if he's going to play next season like he has this I hope we sell him for lots and lots of cash.

Anyone who leaves our club this summer other than Gray, Chilwell or Ndidi are likely to only be bench warming elsewhere. That includes Mahrez and Vardy.

Exactly how long do we have to put up with his half arsed "performances" though? I wouldn't mind if he got dropped or subbed off but he is given a free pass to do **** all by Shakey and the fans

You say half arsed and I say that's naive. Last night he was the only threat - he's a massively talented player who relies on support of a team playing in the manner that brings the best of him, when we do his quality shines.

Besides all of this, if those of you can't see what a startling talent Mahrez is and how lucky we are to call him a Leicester City player then I would urge you to watch my memory of the side that lost at home to Luton Town 2-0 a while back, post Filbo that was too.

Some of you do not know the pain or maybe have forgotten...

or maybe we expect someone thats a PLAYER OF THE YEAR to play a damn site better than Mahrez has, to inspire his team mates and drag performances out of them. he hasn't looked interested for us all season baring a few CL group games.

I don't care how much ability someone has if they don't apply it they may as well have no ability at all

I agree that I expect him to play a hell of a lot better, but why on earth do you think it's his responsibility to inspire his team mates and "drag performances out of them"?

because that's what players that are as good as we keep being told Mahrez is do, they drag a performance out of their teammates when they are struggling ,they inspire their teammates.

look at what Bale did for Spurs, whilst he can't do it in the same style due to their differences as a player, if he's a s good as people on here keep saying he should be doing some of that

Mahrez has great personal talent no doubt, but his value to the team this season has been minimal.

I understand why people think he is lacking desire to play for us, but i don't think his work rate has changed that much from last season, there were many times we were getting frustrated with him last season, and several games he was a passenger.

There are many players with great talent who make average (or worse) footballers based on their contribution to the team. Tarabt comes to mind. It is also important to consider that many players through history have been able to produce 1 great season in a mediocre career (Michael Ricketts anyone?)

I think that whether Mahrez is a great player who has had 1 bad season, or an average player that has had 1 great season is a question that still needs to be answered for me.

Josh Low's debut game?

Matt Le Tissier was the same sort of player I would always play Mahrez as I would have always played Le Tissier

Southampton never won the prem - In fact I don't think they were more than Relegation candidates in the Prem with Le Tissier. They were better as a team before he arrived and after he left. Maybe there's something to think over there.

I'll be honest, Mahrez was surrounded by a bunch of midfielders who were absolutely ****ing terrified of going over the halfway line on Wednesday.

He's got nobody within 40 yards of him willing or able to help him build attacks.

If I was him I would have looked at the way we faced up to that game on Wednesday and I would have made my mind up to move on if possible.

As I said, if ever there was a club and player who absolutely aren't helping each other.....

Apparently Shakey has needed to talk with Mahrez after he was unhappy being subbed against West Brom. Does he think he's too good to ever be subbed out? Needs a good kick up the arse, he's been the biggest disappointment in World Football this season.

In contrast to others, I've seen several indications in recent games that Mahrez is on his way back from a real drop in confidence.

His performance yesterday was much more like him at his best.

It wouldn't surprise me one bit to see him do something spectacular in one of the remaining matches.

people are not disagreeing with that. They're saying he's been pretty crap for the majority of the season. Even worse than Ozil.
