SSN just announced Man City will be making a statement at 7.30pm.

Hughes on his way tonight?

Mancini In?

they seem to have gone about this in a disgusting way, i mean mancini was apparently in the stadium while hughes is still manager. flaming hell.

That was a good game - and a certain London derby in League 1 was apparently interesting as well.

Manager trade? Rafa to City, Hughes to Liverpool? ;)

Shocking if City announce straight after the game almost that he's out... today made no difference, so why not let him go during the week?

Feel for him, think he should be given more time. They aren't exactly out of touch with the European places, and surely they didn't expect him to win the league this year? CL place is certainly still possible.

Having said that, Mancini would be a good appointment, and I think will attract bigger names and they'll do well... so maybe it also has something to do with him now being willing to take the job, rather than simply Hughes' performance.

From the Beeb:

1831: BREAKING NEWS: Manchester City have confirmed the sacking of manager Mark Hughes, and announced the appointment of Roberto Mancini as his replacement.

Thought it was 7.30?

disgusting way to treat the man. only 2 defeats, both away from home. one with a vvvvvveeeerrrrryyy late winner. currently sitting in 6th. you just cant win

So an ex Leicester player is now manager of the most expensive team in the UK. Wiki has been updated regarding MancinI already!!!:icon_bigg

Roberto Mancini (born November 27, 1964 in Jesi, Ancona) is an Italian football coach and former player. He is the manager of English Premier League team Manchester City as of December 19, 2009, following the sacking of Mark Hughes by the club.

I see someone has included his extensive time at City in great detail.:icon_wink
Joining Leicester in January 2001 with a contract until the end of the season,[2] Mancini is currently the club's last ever high-profile signing to date.[3] He made his Premier League debut against Arsenal at the age of 36 that same month, playing his part as 10-man City gained a 0–0 draw. Better was to follow with a 2–1 FA Cup win over Aston Villa at Villa Park and, after a 1–0 defeat at Southampton, Mancini produced his best display in a 2–1 win over Chelsea. He played his final match as a substitute in a 2–1 defeat at Everton. Mancini failed to complete 90 minutes in his five appearances.[3]

He was given a leave of absence in early February, citing personal reasons. However, the club received a phone call from him on 14 February, informing them he would not be returning (he had been offered the manager's job at Fiorentina). Mancini left Leicester City on February 15, 2001

Surprised with their money they haven't lured a decent or more well known manager to their Citeh.

He won the Italian league three times at Inter.
He won the Italian cup at Fiorentina, Lazio and Inter (twice).
Inter fans would love to have him back instead of Mourinho.

But you don't think he's decent or well known :icon_conf
