I wonder if any of the stato's out there can tell us what goals Daka scored in our promotion winning season. Did they make a difference, in giving us 3 or 1 point?
Did that make a difference in our actual finishing position, and hence promotion? And what were his goals scores per minutes played?

156 minutes per goal last season.

If you take his goals away, we'd have finished with four fewer points, which would have left us in second place.
If you also take away the goals where he got the assist, we would have finished third, behind Leeds on goal difference.

That's assuming nothing else would have changed if those goals/assists hadn't happened, which is obviously not the case.

Head to head

  • Manchester United have won the last three meetings in all competitions, most recently by 5-2 in the EFL Cup less than a fortnight ago in their first match after Erik ten Hag's sacking.
  • Leicester have won just one of their last 14 Premier League visits to Old Trafford (D3, L10), a 2-1 victory in May 2021.
  • United have scored in each of their last 28 Premier League games against Leicester, a run stretching back to 1998.
Manchester United

  • Manchester United have 12 points, their lowest total after 10 league fixtures since 1986-87. Sir Alex Ferguson took charge on 6 November that season, after 13 league matches.
  • They have won just one of their last six Premier League games (D3, L2).
  • United's total of nine goals is their lowest at this stage of a top-flight season since 1973-74.
  • The Red Devils have scored two first-half goals, a joint-low in the Premier League this season with Crystal Palace.
  • Marcus Rashford has scored eight goals against Leicester in all competitions, more than he has managed against any other team.
  • Bruno Fernandes has been involved in eight goals in seven starts against Leicester in all competitions, scoring twice against the Foxes in last month’s EFL Cup win.
Leicester City

  • Leicester's tally of 10 points is twice as many as they had after 10 matches of their most recent Premier League season in 2022-23.
  • Going into this weekend, Leicester and Manchester City are the only two teams to have scored in all of their Premier League games so far this season.
  • However, the Foxes have kept just one clean sheet in the top flight this season, and none away from home.
  • Leicester have conceded the opening goal in a league-high eight of their 10 fixtures this season.
  • Each of Leicester’s last four Premier League away matches has produced a game-changing goal scored in the 90th minute or later - resulting in a win, two draws and a defeat for the Foxes.
  • Steve Cooper has lost all six fixtures as a manager against Manchester United in all competitions by an aggregate score of 18-4. All four goals scored by his team came at Old Trafford.
  • Jordan Ayew has scored a stoppage-time goal as a substitute in his last two away appearances.

Thanks Jeff, I kind of already knew that. I was just hoping that some of those people who seem to take delight in ripping into Daka, might also check. The actual facts (without ifs, buts and conjecture) are without Daka we would have been in a play-off that, could have seen us playing in the Championship this season.

He had something of a vein of form around Christmas, from memory.

This is a free hit isn't it? I dont expect anything.

This is exactly the sort of game we get something from if we're going to stay up.

Last game before they get a new manager in. RVN has done okay whatever. Critically though, Man Utd are absolute shite right now. Lazy and confused.

I think it's a perfect game for us. Sadly, I don't have confidence in Cooper taking advantage of that though.
