Don't knock Bolton, fifth in the league, playing cracking football and financially sound.

..... apart from the £93 million of debt and recently announced losses of nearly £35 million. :icon_wink

Haha.

Complete integrity? He's an hypocrite. He said we'd have two year shirt deals, that's happened once. He said Sousa would have time two days before he was sacked. He complained about a £11 million loss but £1.1 of it was on agents! All facts

Every club he's owned including those abroad fell into financial difficulties within two years of him leaving. Fact!

I'd like to apologise to you and shortwave fox and portugueezer for the totally uncalled for abuse and rudeness in my original post. Absolutely unnecessary and I'm very sorry for any offence. I was a bit p*ssed when I wrote it.

Surely the government have more pressing issues than getting involved with the club and Co-Operative Bank.
You don't think it's important that during a recession a football club the size of Sheffield Wednesday, with the number of fans and employees it has, local businesses and charities it deals with and supports, and visitors it brings to the city, is kept in existence?

Yes you are correct. Just hadn't heard of any other politicians negotiating with creditors when other clubs have suffered financially.

The vilification of someone who has complete integrity and took this club, not the team, from where it was when he took over to where it is now is not only astounding but completely without foundation.

:icon_lol:

I want a couple of halves of what he had.

Brilliant.

I'm sure he believes that whatever he says is true.

I don't think it is relevant whether he has integrity or not, which other owners/chairmen of football clubs have integrity, they will be in the minority not the majority.

MM took us on when no-one else would or could or want to. The argument that someone else MAY have come in if he hadn't doesn't hold water - they didn't. I don't recall there being a list the length of a football pitch of prospective investors at the time?

He came in and wanted to make money out of us eventually - well maybe he will and maybe he won't. Again i am not fussed. He may have tried to do it on the cheap - who wouldn't given his limited wealth?

I don't like the guy - in fact i have absolutely no feelings towards him either way. The new owners are here to make money also, and they will do whatever they need and want to do to realise this ambition. Hopefully the ride will be good.

Gone are the days where someone who loves our club would consider doing a Jack Walker - why the feck would they? At least we are not on the verge of going out of existence. We have an exceptional manager, a good team that is improving, kudos and a bright future. Those combinations come around about as regularly as a Sunderland away win in SW6. Enjoy it while it lasts.
