Re: Mandric Out?

So, as the man in charge, he is to blame!

LCFC is in a worse situation now than it was 18 months ago.

LCFC has probably got more debt than it had 18 months ago.

LCFC is a bigger laughing stock than it was 18 months ago.

If I'm an idiot for not going along with the Mandy bandwagon then that's what I am (I won't lose any sleep over that!!)

This statement always makes me laugh (no pun intended). I know a lot of people and not one of them is laughing at Leicester City, where are all of these people that care enough about us to laugh at us? Someone please tell me

Re: Mandric Out?

he doesn't appear to have any grasp of many of the basics. He constantly interferes with the playing side of his clubs. He did it with Allen and he did it with Holloway. Making decisions to recruit and select players is not his role. He does it continually.

again where is the proof? or you assume he is because some others say the same.

Re: Mandric Out?

Whether you think it should stop or not, a lot of people think the same.

He bought into Leicester, not through love of the club or the area, but because he thought he would make a pile of money with a bit of investment. However he's made a right pigs ear of the running of the club (proof, relegation to the third level of English football, looking for another Manager, unhappy season ticket holders etc)

He hasnt done substantially worse than the last board, I posted in another thread that the points total has been steadily declining for years now. This year worse luck due to the unusually high points needed to stay up. He has massively improved squad investment and offers ambition. An improvement over the past board.

Season ticket holders were unhappy before he came and I believe his time here attendances improved last year over previous years. (we actually got high attendances without giving away seats)

Re: Mandric Out?

The fact that none of the managers wanted to play half of those signings is a bit of a clue.

so holloway didnt play his own signings? megson didnt play his signings? allen who made the most signings but didnt have many games so hard to judge with him.

As I have posted elsewhere, the senior partner here, who is a football agent, met up with MA shortly after the season started. MA said that of the 13 or so signings, 4 were down to him and the others down to MM together the the agent Barry Silkman who MM has worked with in the past.

Isn't that the same as saying that Holloway didn't do substantially worse than recent managers? Presumably then you should have no argument with those who suggest that Mandaric should go the way of Holloway.

Quite so.

People who I know would have been sending me mocking texts in the past - its just quiet now, we have gone beyond being a joke and into the fringes of English football.

Anyone spotted this today?

If Only They Knew Then What They Knew Now
From The Observer, August 5 2007:

'Let's face it, Milan Mandaric was always going to be a hit at Leicester City. Turn up at a club fresh out of administration with £25million in your back pocket, name-checking friends like the late, great George Best, and with a proven record of Premiership football - the fans are going to love you.'

I put playing results down to the manager.

I put playing funds down to the chairman.

Holloway, megson, MA2 all had more funds than previous managers did which doesnt make MM a worse chairman in that regard. MM was also an improvement in that he actually has ambition unlike the previous board. To say the chairman should go because of relegation is ridicolous.

Holloway was even poorer when you consider the funds he had and support of his chairman so yes holloway was shockingly poor.

Makes sense to me in general except where the chairman gets involved in player acquisition or squad/tactics selection or sacks his manager every couple of months. In this case though, except for the rumours that MM bought some players before MA2 came in he doesn't seem to have interfered too much and IH had plenty of games and backing so yes, I think it is ridiculous for the chairman to be blamed. The blame belongs to IH and his players.

Is everyone really happy that Holloway has gone? Holloway was just another puppet in Mandric's game! Championship, or Legue One it won't make any difference, it was Mandric's mards and poor decisions that helped us to relegtion this season, not everything can or should be placed on the shoulders of Holloway. At the end of the day if it weren't for Mandric we would still have Allen and maybe just maybe we would still be a Championship team.

What does everyone else think, has Mandric's money really made us a better club? Is it all worth it?

So what's the alternative?

Re: Mandric Out?

In footballing terms, the man is much more than a mere fool. He's a complete and utter brain dead moron.

In his businesses, he's obviously got a successful formula and done very well. I've complete respect for that. He also works hard, which I also respect.

However, the man has run football clubs now for 35 years and he doesn't appear to have any grasp of many of the basics. He constantly interferes with the playing side of his clubs. He did it with Allen and he did it with Holloway. Making decisions to recruit and select players is not his role. He does it continually.

His other main fault is his ego. It means he's a rent-a-quote owner who yabbers on to anyone and everyone and by doing so undermines players, managers and supporters.

A good club owner should be in the background, intuitive, supportive and a good decision-maker. Mad Mandy is none of these things which is why he is positively working against this clubs progress rather than for it. A few quid in today's football world does not mitigate these failings at all.

I only hope that he's not so egotistical that he cannot see that himself after his appalling cock-ups over the last year. However, I'm not holding my breath.

For the first time for a while, well said BN.......

At last, the penny has dropped.

Quite right.

Did it ever cross your mind that some of Holloway's ineffectiveness might as a result of Mandaric's interference and his insistence that certain things should happen? Could it be that when Holloway was looking lost during games and appearing to hide from his responsibilities, that he was actually being prevented from taking the decisions that he wanted to by the chairman's pre-match instructions?

I think it is naive to think Mandaric has suddenly shaken off the habits of a lifetime.

If that's the case then it's completely outrageous and if IH was half the leader that he made himself out to be then he would have made everyone aware of it surely? Surely one of our managers, particularly one of Megson's experience would have brought this to the fore?

Once again it seems that the constant speculation and conspiracy theorists abundant on this forum have sent people mad.

Is there any proof that IH didn't sign his own players and choose his own tactics? he even talked about his choices of player for example signing Oakley as he was younger than the alternative.

When his questionable substitutions were made was MM on the phone to him in the dugout?

This is nonsense.
