Thank **** - can you imagine how much worse we would have been without the injection of cash into the transfer kitty this year?!

Mandaric staying is the best outcome we could have asked for. If he had decided to leave we would have little, if any, chance of escaping L1. We would be financially screwed and probably go into administration - AGAIN!

Both Dowie and Daives are poor managers who just got lucky once (each), they would be no improvement on Holloway, so with Mandaric's record we should expect the announcement anytime soon.

I would much rather see Ince or Newell come in.

Mandaric is staying? YES YES YES fantastic!!! I really needed some positive news to help me sleep tonight and by jove I think I've got it!

I think newell is a good shout, knows the division, only struggled at luton in second year because they sold his players for him.

And he fits the former player bill ;)

Hmmm, I seem to remember a good manager who knew the division well and had his players sold for him...

:tumbleweed:

i didnt think he would leave, he's too proud a man to do that, he just needs to sit down and sort this mess out, with STABILITY being a major priority for most of next season

And he'd have them back here anyway! ;) (Howard and Bell)

*edit (realise of course Bell wasn't sold from him seeing as he's on loan from Luton!)

Newell, Davies or Dowie: why the argument? We've got at least one full season in Div. 1 - that's enough time for all three.

I am looking for some serious INSTABILITY - the sort of instability that means we don't rot in the Third Division.

Anyone with anything about them would have avoided relegation given the resources available. The man, Holloway, looked and behaved like a beaten bloke by the end of the season. You can feel sorry for him - and that's fine. But it just ain't sense to keep him on doing a bad job. Shame, but there it is.

sorry i wasn't at all clear in my post, the point i tried to put was that with a new gaffer and a different set of players, we should stick with them for a longer period than Martin Allen got..... but yeh, i agree with you too. Feeling sorry for him is all very good, but we're in a worse position and he needs to go, simple.
