Matt Piper and why he couldn't play for us even if he was fit...

after the brighton match i was on the phone to my mate Dawn as usual, and she was telling me about who her hubby(Tom) had in the back of his ambulance Saturday morning(he's a paramedic)
it was Matt Piper and his gran-she wasn't very well so was being took in and Matt was going with her to make sure she was ok.

anyhoo, Tom was chatting away with them talknig about Matt's career and stuff. his gran said his knee has always been dodgy and he was a weakling(he said she was laughing when she said that bit though!)
and then Tom asked what he was doing now.

as he doesn't have a club he could train with us, get himself fit and maybe pick up again in the future if he gets sorted out... Matt said he couldn't play for us even if he was fit cos, Sunderland have paid him off re: his wages but because they HAVEN'T paid us the total amount of the transfer yet it's all contractual stuff so he wouldn't be allowed to play for us even if he was fully fit.
he's training with Coventry to keep fit but whether he plays again he doesn't know.

ps: he gran also said when he was told he was going to Sunderland he couldn't stop crying(aww bless!)


so....Sunderland still owe us money after what...4 years?....and people jump on our backs about the Admin thing?

Exactly, at the time of administration there were various clubs making comments about 'footballing debts', however in reality there was more money owed to LCFC by other clubs in the balance of transfer deals outstanding then there was us owing other clubs.

Or, if they were, the post-administration arrangement would suggest it should be earmarked for paying off our creditors.

The debt is still payable, and the money would go to pay off our debts. Because a company goes into admin does not mean that money owed to it become non payable.
The money would be earmarked by admin as you stated.

Sunderland owe us nothing! But they still have to pay the debt they owed to the old company. This money goes into the pot set up by the administrators to pay the creditors, thats if you are a fecking preferential one....which usually is not the case!
I have had several suppliers go bust whilst I was dealing with them and I still had to cough up!!

this was at the reserve game last night......and those who know Angie Buswell(who sorts the travel out for the Hinckley Branch) certainly would not call her a liar!
