How much is a fair price for this lad. Personally I think he is an uncut diamond.

Bearing in mind that Cardiff just sold Aaron Ramsey (who probably had less first team and international experience) to Arsenal for £5 million.

With our recent track record of taking exciting prospects and turning them into pure shite I think we should take any offer on the table.

It would be nice to see a youth player come good but we've proven over the last five seasons that we can't take potential and turn it into a footballer for love nor money. Sell Sell Sell. Get Jamie Clapham in. :)
 
I'd take £3m for him. I don't think he's been amazing for us since breaking into the team and still has a lot to learn.

Wow - harsh.

He's a teenager for god's sake, and a very talented footballer. Not many teenagers don't have a lot to learn!
 
I don't care which one of our players it is, 3 mill and they have to go IMO.
 
IMO Mattock has done nothing to justify a 3 million price tag, he has potential and I have no doubt that he will have a decent living in the game, but 3 million for a kid who only played a handful of games in a side that got relegated would be a dream come true.

I reckon we should definately sell him. Based on the fact that he's been an England u19, and one of the youngest u21's and a bright prospect - sell him straight away!

I think the fact that ''kid who only played a handful of games in a side that got relegated'' should really answer your own statement!

In fact f**k it sell everyone...

No feck it lets keep him and then in 2 years time when we really have fecking ruined him we can flog him to Rotherham for 25k instead. FFS we are talking about if we were offered 3 million quid. IMO if Mattock stayed next season not only would it massively hinder his progress and therefore reduce any likely subsequent transfer fee, I also doubt he would be the difference between whether we go up or not.

No f**k it let's sell anyone who shows promise based on 'what might be,' we might ruin him, we might not, on that argument we may as well keep our revolving door moving...we used christ knows how many players last season and most of them are shite, let's at least try and keep our youngsters (and ideally our best ones), and go back to at least a proportion of players actually playing for their shirt, rather than, just money and a quick buck.

He MIGHT just make a difference...

Agreed, hes looked OK considering his age, but hes not goign to become a leading Premiership or International star or anything

Can't believe the sell Mattock line on here. One of our problems has been 'mercenaries' (harsh I know but you know what I mean) who don't care for the shirt or the town. Mattock has the ability to be at the heart of our team for many years and I think we'd be mad to sell him unless it was financially unavoidable.

Oh yes ofcourse it would be brilliant to keep him, but youngsters with Premiership potential dont hang around in the Championship, let alone League One I'm afraid.
