Out of our strikers, Fryatt has got the best touch and awareness by a country mile, and I'm sure he has scored a few headers for us as well.

If you meant 'let him' go out on loan then I would probably agree with you, although I think, if ever given a chance in our team, he would certainly bang the goals in.

I like fratt, and agree he is capable of doing a good job. But 3 managers and now a consotium of managers have all seen fit not to use him. From that I conclude there is a genuine issue.

Levein rated him to sign him. Kelly played him when he was (and wasn't fit) and felt if we had have been able to play Hume & Fryatt last season we'd have been mid table easily.

MA didn't rate him, but I know Rudkin does, but think MM had some influence on the squad for Plymouth

I didn't include Levein for that reason.

To be fair, I think that, with the events of the previous week, it was felt best to make minimum changes.
I am one who has gone on record as being saddened by MA's demise but, I hope that it does give Fryatt a lifeline. He is the sort of player who needs a few starts and then, I think we would see the best of him.

When playing well the end of the season but one, Fryatt looked the sort of 'poacher' forward that put away the bread and butter chances and hung around the box, Hume was doing a lot of the running. He has come off the rails playing wise with injuries and IMO extra weight.
With the extra strikers at the club he now needs to show the willing and desire to fight his way back into the team, but from reports it seems he does not want or have the fight in him. As YV said MA could have been trying his hard nose style to kick him up the arse, but that does not work with all players.
It seems he has got talent and if MA had stayed IMO his city career was finished, now with the new manager coming in it is his last chance saloon and he needs to prove a few people wrong, if he has not got that attitude I doubt we will see him in a blue shirt again.

It don't think one goal tonight should get Fryatt a place on the bench. ;)

So, spill. What on earth is this problem? Is it the guy, the club, the psychology, the casino waitress, or the missus? Or the misses?
This is really getting a tad frustrating.
We have no idea why Fryatt is sidelined to this extent, apart from rumour and hearsay.
Is he rubbish,or not, and does he want to play for us or not?:(

And our strikers so far this season have set the league on fire haven't they? :102:

mdv dj hume all scored against watford.

The plymouth game was poor all round not surpisingly given the manager situation.

Fryatt messed himself up last season and will have to be patient for his chance it will come and with a new manager coming his chance may be sooner then you think.

With hindsight, yes. They did fcuk all against Plymouth.

you dont drop strikers after 1 bad game, fryatt was playing the majority of last year double standards. If he was dropped after every game he didnt score the same people would be on here saying he needs a run of games. The simple fact is he was poor last season, the majority of his first team games at leicester have been poor, the manager of the team decided he wasnt good enough these things we have to live with even if we dont agree with them but he will get his chance that I am sure off.

Scored again yesterday. Deserves to at least be on the bench againest QPR.

Personally, and I'm only just joining the debate having been away for a couple of weeks (but took in the Plymouth game :)), but I thought Fryatt was our best player against Accrington.... and DJ was a waste of pigging space.

Odhiambo did more in the two minutes he was on than DJ did all night.

I'd play Fryatt with Hume and Cort (who did OK at Argyle when he came on).

Shows how different opinions can be! He looked to me not bothered and a lazy waste of space. And I was/am a fan of his!

DJ hasn't impressed so far but he is scoring, so I would sooner see him keep playing poorly and getting goals than see Fryatt come in, play well and not get goals
