Only one more booking and McGivern is suspended. It's a bit concerning that however poor he is, we seem to have no other option at left-back.

I wonder how many of his four bookings are due to his wayward positioning and having to take desperate action to cover his mistake.

Has Powell broken his leg then?

Good thing for him he doesn't get yellow-carded every time he's atrociously out of position, otherwise he'd hold the Football League red card record.

Not that I know of. My remark was supposed to be tongue-in-cheek and a comment on NP's continuing refusal to pick him.

No he's not. The rules changed this season, it was only a suspension for five yellow cards before the end of December.

Ah! :icon_redf Thanks for that. That goes some way to explain why McGivern is feeling that he can throw himself in with such abandon these days. Three bookings in four January games is a sad indictment of his style and ability.

What's the new date for the '10-yellow' ban?

After sticking up for him in the past, I now agree this prick should clear off back to Man City.

How do you know he's a prick?

He may not be a great footballer but might be the nicest guy in the world. Have you had a long conversation with the guy to come to that conclusion?

Yawn.

Sorry Ryan it was nothing personal, just someone who is bored being perry and immature.

I have only seen McGivern's televised appearances, but it strikes me, that he may not be as bad as he is being painted. He has Brown next to him, who is too slow to cover the errors of a youngster who has played precious few first team games. There is also little cover from mid-field and, whilst Morrison has performed particularly well recently, he cannot be everywhere!

Is it merely the tricks of a fading memory, or do I remember many on here urging Pearson to sell Mattock for whatever he could get and to bring in that skilful young lad from Manchester City? Youngsters need easing in which, due to injuries, McGivern has not been.
