He's 24. I'd say that was surposedly prime in his career. He would be in the starting line up every week if he was going to make it and he would have been 4th choice next season.

I guess we will all have to wait and see how he does at Charlton then.

I for one think he will develop into a solid defender.

Or he could have learnt the game at the lower level and developed into a good player :102:

That's what used to happen in the old days before players actually broke into the England side at 17 :icon_wink
In those days lower league clubs developed player and if they showed potential they snapped up by high league clubs. Players who went down a league very rarely came back up unless it was with that particular club. Still can't see how a Derby reject can be worth £1.3m because he now can score goals in the 2nd. division(which is actually the 4th. division). Don't forget Derby were in top division at the time as well, so didn't rating as prospect with potential.

Most players who drop down don't come back up, but some top class players have been allowed to leave big clubs for a lower division club, only to prove them wrong by making it at the top level.
Sometimes players take a while to develop, or their first club doesn't see their potential.

A few examples off the top of my head...

Neil Lennon, Man City - Crewe.
Robbie Savage, Man Utd - Crewe.
David Platt, Man U - Crewe.
Andy Cole, Arsenal - Bristol City.
David Seaman, Leeds - Peterborough.
Stan Collymore - Wolves - Stafford.

Back to the Saganowski thing. My mate's a Saints fan, and he says all the talk is that he's sure to resign down there once a few minor things are sorted. I have to be honest and say that if he was gonna plump for someone other than Saints (where he was comfortable and knew the set up, players etc), it would be a Prem club and not one that was dragging it's arse along the bottom of the league last season. As mouthwatering a prospect that teaming up with Carl Cort is, I believe the above to be true.

I dont think McLeod is coming, it appears to be lazy journalism based on a manager raiding his old club for players. MM also tends to favour free transfers.

I don't think MM wants to wait for players that age to develop Silv, wants success yesterday.

With all respect...and I do mean that in that the plain meaning of my words should be taken as they are but...

Milan and whoever has obviously been playing the PR game very well if he can convinece people that selling a young prospect is a great thing and that replacing them with a 35 (nearly 36) year old is some how sufficient. Cruising for the last pay day springs to mind as has been the long standing tradition of the past few years.

Garbage IMO just like the signing of a player that Craig Levein didn't want, an unknown and Carl f*cking Cort. I would love to share with you the volume of abuse i have received from a lot of friends from that signing. Lets just say a lot of my geordie mates think this is the funnniest thing they have heard.

Milan....Say you want a revolution well you know we'd all love to see the plan.
