lost a wedge tonight on some strange results.
Matters not a jot as we spank midbo on their turf! lovely stuff!

What a welcome result that was. Boro must hate playing us.

So much sweeter to see the Sheep completely shagged and Keane on the verge. How much patience do they have with the man?

Bring on Cov!

Can someone who was there please tell us who played well and whom did not. Were we good value for the win or a bit lucky? How did Morrison do at right back? What about Gallagher and the much maligned King? Am I right that Howard came on and were we more effective with him or without?

Boro were the better team and had far more chances than we had but the defence in general had a good game - was particularly impressed by Weale who made a cracking save late in the game and Berner who was up against Adam Johnson who is potentially a quality player at this level

Match changed for me when we took Kermit off (who was never in the game) and brought Howard on. All of a sudden it looked like we knew what we were doing and had a game plan.

King was ok but Oakley dissappointing - gave the ball away far too much for a player of his ability and experience

Thanks for that. Oakley does seem to have gone off the boil recently. Nice to see Kingy did OK.

I think it would be unfair to judge Kermorgant just yet. Give him time, he did look sharp on Saturday but sounds like he was useless last night.

NP needed to get a reaction from his players and the changes he made brought that out. Although how Brown kept his place i dont know.

Overall a great result, soon as M'Boro sack Southgate they will be a major force again so these 3 points will probally be worth gold come the end of the season.

Morrison in for Neilson ! looks like we are not the only ones who realise Neilson is poor.

People on the 606 forums are genuinly worried that this will signal the sacking of Southgate and a move for Pearson, I despair sometimes.

I live in the North East and Boro is the local team - there is a lot of love for Pearson here as an ex-player/captain.

If you were to ask the fans who their choice would be as a replacement for Southgate they would say Tony Mowbray (who they're not going to get) and then Pearson.

If you were Pearson who do you think would give you the best short to medium term success/security Gibson/Boro or Mandy/City....

Pearson seems (obviously i don't know if he is) to come across as a loyal character, and I don't think he will jump ship yet. After all we showed the faith into him to give him his first long term managerial job.

I agree but loyalty is a two way street and Gibson, probably to his detriment, is the most loyal chairman around whereas Mandaric.....

On 606 the majority of their fans want Curbishley/Strachan/Irvine.

Who else would you play? Tunchev's injured and Morrison's a bit of an unknown quantity as a Championship centre back. :102:

Morrison looked nervous and made quite a few mistakes.
Brown looked better than he did on satdee(well he couldn't be worse)
Hobbs didn't deserve to be dropped and showed why, he was solid.
Berner got stuck in and got forward well.

Gallagher needs to learn to run to the ball, not wait for it to come to him, and he also needs to learn he HAS to put his foot in from time to time, lost no end of possession cos he just stood there and the defender nicked the ball off him.
Oakley was poor, misplaced passes and faffed around mainly because of...
King, anonymous throughout, non-existing tackling put unwanted pressure onto the defence time and again.
Dyer, piss poor for 80 minutes, glad he didn't get subbed though!

Fryatt, didn't seem as involved last night but then with not much support from the players behind the front two it wasn't a surprise.

Kermit didn't do badly, had some nice flick on which found team mates each time and tried to get into space. But like Fryatt didn't seem to be in the game much.

Howard, Adams and Waghorn gave us a bit more threat going forward and I think overall we just about shaded it.
