What? You think Sousa will get youth players in or not all like Taylor?

I think Sousa will, I didn't think Taylor did, but maybe I was wrong.

Dont remember Taylor signing too many international youth players. I do remember £5m on Ade Akinbiyi, £3m on Matthew Jones, £3m on Jamie Scowcroft and £1.5m on Trevor Benjamin.

All full internationals bar Scowie IIRC. Big Trev even represented England a u21 and Jamaica at grown ups level. :icon_conf

I always thought Matt Jones had potential before his injuries.

We appear to have a manager that can make use of his experience of coaching international youth teams to identify players with potential. The last time I thought we were in this position was when Peter Taylor took over:icon_evil.

Didn't Pearson work with the Under 21's at some point?

Yep, he did:

On 1 February 2007, Pearson was confirmed as assistant coach to Stuart Pearce, the England U21 team manager, until after the 2007 European Championships. As Pearce's contract limited him to involvement in only one friendly before the Championship, Pearson led the under-21s in their 3–3 draw against Italy on 24 March 2007, the first game at the new Wembley.

From you know where.

Got a touch of the Mandy influence this one.

His agent is Phil Zahavi, the same Zahavi whose very good friends with Mandaric and been rumoured to be courting investors for us.

That said on paper it's looks a reasonable signing none the less.

Any takers for a time and date that this will finally appear on the OS....?

To be fair, the Mercury report suggests that he is still sorting out personal terms. We would complain were they to report this and then, the deal fell through.

To me it seems more of a potential for Swansea now coming to us.
