more like it's because Millwall fans are a bunch of ***** and they don't want them rocking up pissed

good to see the spin doctors survived relegation...would rather have a reserve team than a PR team

They have never had a problem telling it how it is in the past, numerous Leicester games get changed due to potential violence. This game was classed as a Cat C game last time we were in the same league and fans were banned from travelling away in both fixtures.

last time we played them was 05/06 I went to that with a fair few hundred Leicester fans, they kept us behind but certainly we were not banned from going to there. No trouble there though that day

We've played twice home and twice away since then.

There was after the game in the London Bridge area - I wasn't surprised as there were a few faces in the away end that one normally sees at games where it might kick off.

There was a lot of trouble in and around London Bridge station and in Borough Market and High Street.

Great minds and all that, eh Bob?:icon_wink

I seem to remember that it was not all Leicester and Millwall. I seem to remember that Stoke were involved (were they on the way back from Portsmouth) and West Ham too.

the Bridge Bar isn't in London Bridge station anymore...because they're building The Shard or something

so it's M&S if you want a fight

I think it was our Administration season and it wasn't down to police that the fans were 'banned'

Millwall decided pretty soon after the fixtures were announced that they would be banning supporters from (I think!) five clubs. Burnley, Wolves, Forest, us and someone else, can't remember who.
They had had some problems with trouble in the matches v. those other sides the previous season, but they hadn't played us at their place since 96 I think. It was a New Years Day game? Corica scored? Anyhoo because they 'banned' us, the club decided to do the same thing to them when they came to us.

In hindsight their decision was probably a good thing as it was that summer when Wise decided to smack Davidson and there was a lot of ill-feeling towards the nasty little midget as it was(what with that, and him trying to get money out of the club during Admin) without him scoring against us and helping get Brian Deane sent off!

There was still more than a few of us there. I seem to remember that the estimate was about 250 - all Millwall members for just that one year.

Wasn't it Covscum and Pompey, and not Burnley? :102:

It was City, Wolves, Burnley, F!"£$t, Portsmouth and Stoke.

Some other games, including Cov and Palace, were made all-ticket and some games had kick-off times brought forward so there was plenty of day light left in which the police could get the fans away.

These steps were taken after a riot the previous season when Millwall fans smashed everything up after a defeat by Brum in the playoffs - yes, the behaviour of the home fans got away fans banned.

Eight of us tried to do that, but after a phone call saying we didn't qualify for membership(Darn Leicestershire postcodes!) we never even got the cheque or our photos back, which we'd sent down recorded delivery. I had to listen to that game on the radio and I vowed afterwards never to listen to a City commentary again, it was absolute torture!

Did that, and someone you know very well, almost got us a box, only to be thwarted at the last minute.

As it happened, I had a serious asthma attack the day before, and would have struggled, but I still had to be locked in the house on the day. Stupid husbands.
