Well done to AT for having the balls and inclination to actually go the radio in the first place, I can't remember the last chairman to do this.

Not exactly the most riveting hour though, too many bland questions and answers.

I hope that we will hear more from the chairman and others at the club over the course of the season, in a range of Q&A forums, and the debate gets more interesting and relevant.

To the best of my knowledge the last four chairmen have been on a RL phone-in. I'm sure there were many hard hitting questions put forward, I know I sent a couple in , but as HF rightly says RL journalists will hardly be appearing on Newsnight anytime soon.

To get to the top of the tree at McDeath he's bound to be a bit of a spin merchant, but it would be nice if RL presenters followed in on a question and try to push him a bit rather than just accepting every answer he gave in such a docile manner. It just came across as propaganda in the end.
