The shareholders are not aware of the content of the bid document. The FT have posted as fact that the shareholders have not yet recieved an official bid document

But also that they have been kept in the picture about what the problem points under discussion were.

Being "kept in the picture" surely doesn't replace the need to analyze the bid document correctly and professionally

We have had dialogue with James Johnson today & he agreed with the posts that the details broadcast were bland.

Apparently he did reveal more about this reasons for not backing the deal, but RL were advised legally not to broadcast it.

Hopefully this will help explain why we have previously tried to give as much detail as we can to fans, and reflect shareholders did have real concerns with the bid.

We are optimistic of the takeover being complete this week, although we still haven't had the official final bid document as yet, so timescales are getting tight again

But I will wager you have had a bid document and that it is probably as near as dammit close to the final document. I would also wager you know what will be in the official document...so please don't drag your heels.

So you understand the process of turning a seemingly simple process into a long drawn out saga!:icon_bigg

If I did that I wouldn't have a job for very long, or clients who would ever use me again.

Please note the FT's use of the phrase 'Official Final Bid Document' might suggest that they have had sight of a draft copy.

how & why would they do that?

Well a few weeks ago they were hinting at calling a meeting on notice to outline the bid to their members. If they do that we will miss the January window entirely...and in doing so miss out on the takeover. Milan said he wanted the deal to go through before the window closes if he is to be involved.

I was simply asking the trust not to drag their heels by calling such a meeting.

I seem to recall the FT said that if necessary they would get the opinion of the membership by e-mail if a quick decision was required, rather than holding a formal meeting.

Due to the fact that a member (or members) have circulated every recent members e-mail to the media (even when specifically asked not to), unfortunately we cannot risk that option now.

We can't put the Trust at risk of legal action by detailing the contents, hence a meeting was the only option (as in verbal sharing).

The timeframe now means the elected Trust board will have to make the decision & then explain the logic afterwards to members.

Hi Trust, is there any danger that timescales hinted at last week by Andrew Taylor will not be met?
