We signed some players back then
It such a wonderful nostalgic feeling to think back and realize it's three years since we stormed the Championship. Happy days!We signed some players back then
Matthew Upson, Ben Hamer, Marc Albrighton and Jack Barmby.
I imagine most of us wouldn't have thought who'd be the only successful one out of those.
They may not be 'glamorous' but none of those teams are in quite the same predicament as us. We look to be in free fall with no way out. We look to have a few very unhappy players who, for whatever reasons feel hard done to. We look to have a manager who is panicking game in game out. We look to have a recruitment policy only Einstein could figure out. Palace seem to be making every effort to change things for the better at all levels. Leicester seem to be imploding. If you were offered the chance to play at Palace (in the capital with all its attractions) or Leicester right now, who would you choose? The January window was always going to be a damp squib for us.
Agreed and to think that Chelsea were 1 point above relegation ofter 16 games last year.Like Palace and all the others we look like we're imploding until we win a game.
Let's not get all hyperbolic.

Unlike Palace, we've got players airing their dirty laundry in public. Unlike Palace, we certainly are in free fall from the dizzy heights of last year whether you choose to accept that or not. Yes, we couldn't hope to replicate that level of success, but to suffer a decline so spectacularly and so rapidly is bizarre and almost certainly worrying to most footballers looking to join a club without the pressure of a looming relegation battle. Unlike Palace, we have done next to nothing to look as if we are trying to rectify the situation. Unlike Palace, we don't have the draw of the big lights of London. Unlike all the other clubs near us, we aren't playing with any kind of fight at all. It isn't hyperbole to suggest we are not an attractive proposition to any player worth their salt right now; it's a fact. One win will not change any of this. The Manchester City game should have taught you that.Like Palace and all the others we look like we're imploding until we win a game.

when we win 2 in a row get back to me and tell me it didn't change the hysteria.
'When we win 2 in a row...', which hasn't looked like happening since the beginning of the season, it won't make a blind bit of difference if those around us are winning too. You seem to think people are 'hysterical' for seeing things how the are at present; it isn't hysteria, it's simply stating the facts. Perhaps if some of the players and staff were as concerned about our position as some of the fans, we might see a reaction. I'm not 'hysterical' about it at all but I am able to see why we aren't attractive to potential signings, the point that I was trying to make before you digressed completely.when we win 2 in a row get back to me and tell me it didn't change the hysteria.

I was using Palace as ONE example of clubs that may find it easier to attract players than us. They did. I haven't once suggested that we should use them as a blueprint for how we play football. I don't know what the **** you are on about again. Not many of us do though. It's as though you read snippets of posts rather than digesting the whole thing before you respond in your inevitably childish and I'll informed way.Palace are losing 4-0 at home to Sunderland. You still think they're a great example for us?

LOL, not yet! Given it a couple of weeks and we will be below themYou were saying how we should have done what palace did because it's worked for them.
It's worked until it hasn't and they are sitting in the bottom 2. We're not.
Where did I say we should do what Palace have done? You hijacked a reasonable conversation about transfer policy with your usual nonsense and have now made up the rest. Do you dream this drivel or are you just so lonely you need the constant attention? You were saying how we should have done what palace did because it's worked for them.

All I read is hysterical hyperbole and links to stories about rumours on here.
I ain't worried.
